My lonely, single-for-25-years heart goes out to your lack of an significant other plight. I can't offer any solutions but I can definitely agree it sucks being the only single person present during a party. I deeply hope you can wrangle up an awesome fake date for occasion! (and don't do what I did, which was get laid off right before the end-of-season dinner and thus uninvited to the event 😂😂😂) Anyway, best of luck!!! (and remember, playing hooky is an honourable option as well!)

when I was younger I did not realize situations like this would bother me, but because I'm not close to my co-workers I really don't want to be there alone. sorry to hear about your lay-off, but hey, one less work dinner to sit through! hope everything ended up working out. thanks for your message! even if it's an annoying part of life, it's nice to know others are dealing with it too. (and i've never been one to take the win- there's an 87% chance I simply won't show up).
