i just thought about this seeing you point out the gaiseric and griffith parallels but i really dig the image of griffith standing in front of guts' grave hundreds(?) of years after guts died like gaiseric does with the priestess of the cherry blossoms. i just love that he went through a whole sacrifice christening and rebirth in order to finally win the idgaf war wrt guts and he still isn't succeeding at it

ngl that would be a satisfying epilogue
