the worst thing about MCU movies is that even when they’re bad they’re not fun to pick apart like other bad movies. they’re just dull and soulless. the only exception is Eternals, which was a baffling mess and the story surrounding its production and how much Kevin Feige genuinely thought the MCU had an Oscar-contender on their hands is fascinating to read. I covered the film’s marketing back when I was writing for one of those pop-culture online rags and it was hilarious what they said about that movie pre-release. “It’s an epic story of love, hope, and what makes us human.” “It has the MCU’s first sex scene.” “It has the first openly gay character in the MCU.” Yes, actors and producers alike spouted this nonsense - and the 2nd one isn’t even true - there’s a brief sex scene in the first Iron Man. like the first movie in the MCU. how’d they screw that one up

You know that feeling where you go through life and you think everything is fine and dandy? And then someone says something and it just clicks and makes perfect sense?

Like, when you go without glasses and you think everyone sees the blobs on the trees and that is how life is supposed to work? And then you finally get glasses and you realize they AREN'T blobs but leaves and wow how did you not know this before?

ANYWAY! Back to me

That is totally what I'm feeling right now after all these doctor visits. Like it's making perfect sense. And it's saying that the ADD diagnoses of ADHD [ADD is a subset of ADHD now, apparently] is harder to identify and diagnose, especially for girls because they don't typically have the hyperactivity as a readily identifiable symptom

And I gave my mum this article the doc gave me about ADD and she read it and then came into my room all "so how come we didn't notice this sooner? You were always so bright" and like, yeah ... and like all the symptoms of being so intelligent and not applying oneself have been a general, overriding consensus between my mother and my teachers my entire life. But of course everyone chalked it up to laziness and motivation and if I could only get over it.

Surely one of the teachers I had in elementary/middle/high school should have caught on? Nope. At least in high school. I went to like the top public school in my city! [elementary and middle schools were in the ghetto :P]

Oh well.

Anyway. Yes. So yeah. Like I wasn't rly sure when the NP first said it. Because I had never given it any thought and I didn't know so much about it. But now I'm doing all this research and yeah ...
