weird ways that studying languages has affected my speech in English
-rarely say “yes” or “no” as answers to questions anymore, instead i say things like “i am” “it is” and “i do not” cause Gaelige
-when someone in the house calls my name, i no longer say “yes” or “down here,” i just say “ah”
-sometimes when i’m drunk i’ll just blend a bunch of different languages to get my point across
-occasionally someone will say something in any given language (English included) and it’ll sound like complete gibberish until my brain can find the file on that language
-arguably, my auditory processing has gotten worse when it comes to specific words (never that great to begin with thx adhd), but i have an easier time understanding what people mean by their tone/body language - not very useful for work tho
