I took this bad boy out yesterday at my external rotation at the Montgomery Health Department. The pain was so extreme that the patient was considering to take up a friend’s offer of dousing the mouth with some whiskey 😵 and removing it with a pair of pliers that the patient’s friend also uses for fishing. 🎣 The patient also said the friend had agreed to take out someone’s tooth before and pulled out the wrong tooth 👀 So the guy ended up losing two teeth... 🙊 Needless to say, I’m glad that the decision was made by the patient to have the tooth extracted in a sterile environment with techniques and tools 💉 that were designed to minimize pain and additional post-extraction complications by a dental professional...
