“Louis didn’t want the book published!”
I mean if Louis felt that strongly about it he could have just…not invited an investigative journalist into his home? He could have ended the interview at one of the many, many, many moments where Daniel demonstrated that he wasn’t controllable and wasn’t buying Louis’ bullshit? He could have stopped it whenever Daniel explicitly warned him that once the book was published it could ‘get away’ from him? He could have stopped at any one of the many, many, many times that Armand vocalised to Louis, Daniel and the universe at large that the book was a bad idea for a multitude of very valid reasons? He could have not left Daniel Molloy – professional shit-stirrer who had just blown up Louis’ relationship, motivated partially by genuine concern for Louis, an even more genuine (borderline suicidal) desire to mess with Armand and sheer love of the game – unsupervised for however long it took to to write, edit and publish a whole ass book. He could have taken the time to remember that Daniel told him he was backing things up to the cloud. He could have paid enough attention to the technophile he was married to for 70+ years to grasp how ‘backups’ work.
Louis absolutely wanted that book published, he just doesn’t like the results. Louis had been thinking about that book for 50+ years. Louis has nearly a century on Daniel, can read his thoughts across continents and can set thigs on fire with his mind. He absolutely could have stopped him. Or at least tried.
“But he said to Lestat-” Louis lies. To everyone, primarily to himself. To the extent that it propelled the plot of the show for two whole seasons get it together people.
