Meet the Parents?
Getting married is a funny thing. It’s great, and you get to meet the family of the bride to be, all the friends and everyone else they would like you to meet.
That’s all well and good, but there is always the infamous “meet the parents" moment, especially the dad. Pictures of dads waiting on the porch with shotguns usually come to mind, saying things like, “break her heart, I’ll break your neck," or “I’ll shoot you if…" etc. I was expecting something like that since I didn’t tell anyone that this was going to happen! Apparently, you’re supposed to ask the dad for permission; I didn’t do that…
So, I got that from her dad, as expected. However, what I was not expecting to get it from uncles, friends and mission presidents! That’s what you get when you marry into a large family…everyone says, “I need to meet this boy!" and “you can’t marry this kid until we approve him!" Kind of intimidating, let me tell you…
Of course, I know that they aren’t going to bring any of these threats to life (at least, I’m mostly sure…LOL), but it’s interesting to hear it from so many people! Even grandparents and aunts had to chime in and say that…really amusing.
At least I wasn’t strapped to a chair with the human lie detector drilling my soul for answers, but meeting Robert DeNiro would be awesome…sorry, got a bit side tracked there…
All I know is that I’m making the right decision, and that’s good enough for me :)

Complaints? Oh goodie!!!
So, I started a new job recently and Salt Lake City. During the interview process, you mentioned that we might have to take overtime occasionally. They wagered about 5 to 10 hours a week. Normally working days, I thought that would be just fine. However, they decided to put me on the graveyard shift, as I've mentioned to a few people here on tumbler before. I really don't mind, at least too much, because there is a dollar differential for doing the graveyard shift. I mean, hey! They've got to make that shift exciting somehow... These last two days of been really awesome though. I had stayed till about 10 o'clock or later. My shift starts at 12 midnight Mountain daylight Time until 9 o'clock Mountain daylight Time... Needless to say, it's been really fun adjusting to this... So naturally, this worries my family, and my fiancé, quite a bit. Since I haven't done graveyard shifts for 8+ years, it's been very entertaining to get used to it again. Oh well, I guess that's what you get when you join an establishment that works 24 seven... My point in all of this? I don't really know. I just had to vent to get it off my mind. That usually helps to do that so, sorry for those of you who have heard this before. For those of you who read this TL DR, Thank you. Now, time to get some shut eye! Ha ha Ha ha ha!!!!!
Today is a special day! FOR TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY!! *fanfare plays* I shall not be with you, though I shall be right outside lurking and mentally taking part of the celebratory activities. Eat some cake for me!!
It is, it is! I’m officially another year older than I was yesterday! You’re outside, my love?! COME TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE D:
