Republican Jake Corman, President Pro Tempore of the Pennsylvania Senate, spent a great deal of time and energy pushing Trump’s false claims of voter fraud. Among the repeatedly debunked claims that Corman himself personally advanced, despite having no evidence to support any of them:
Democratic Governor Tom Wolf’s administration attempted to “tip the scales” in Biden’s favor;
Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar encouraged only some counties to help voters fix technical mistakes with their mail ballots; and
Republicans in Philadelphia were prohibited from observing workers as they counted ballots.
After the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, Corman opined that these and other “unproven voter fraud claims” didn’t play “any role” at all in the subsequent violence. Reality begs to differ.
“A false but deeply held belief that the election was rigged and stolen from Trump led thousands of his supporters to gather in Washington and later storm the Capitol. The claims inspired the riot. We rate Corman’s statement Pants on Fire.”
Democrat Jim Brewster's election win was certified by the state.

Republicans who control the Pennsylvania Senate have refused to seat a Democrat elected in November because of a lawsuit brought by his rival, plunging the chamber into chaos Tuesday afternoon.
The Democrat, Jim Brewster, had defeated his GOP opponent Nicole Ziccarelli in his bid to represent Allegheny County, an area that includes Pittsburgh. Although the race was a close one, state officials certified Brewster’s win last year.
Upon Pennsylvania lawmakers’ return to the state Capitol in Harrisburg, where they were to be sworn in for a two-year term, the scene quickly dissolved into mayhem. Democrats loudly protested the Republicans’ decision not to seat Brewster, leading to Republicans voting to oust John Fetterman, the Democratic lieutenant governor, as the state Senate’s presiding officer.
Replacing Fetterman as interim Pennsylvania Senate president pro tempore was Republican Jake Corman, the majority leader.

At the heart of the Republicans’ objection is a pending lawsuit over more than 300 mail-in ballots that were not dated on the outer envelope as state law says they should be. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, however, decided that the ballots should be counted because the handwritten date is not technically mandatory.
But Ziccarelli is still fighting back, arguing that the ballots in question should not be counted. If they are disqualified, it would be enough to overturn the result of the election, which was decided by less than 100 votes.
The Fidesz-like GOP War on Democracy takes a pit stop in Pennsylvania, as the state's GOP-controlled Senate refused to seat State Sen. Jim Brewster (D) (whose win in PA-SD45 was certified) and ejected Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) from presiding over the chamber.
