Opening Sept 11th, 6.30pm -9.30pm Closes Sept 13th, 4pm Hosted by by Summer School of the Damned as part of their month-long residency at The Function Room, Somers Town --- Works presented are both dreams of the wreckage and fictions of the final phases of interiors and structures. Each artwork recognises the others functionality – or lack of it, their [imaginary] subcultural authenticity and their location in a collective unconscious that dreams of anarchy in the midst of apathy. If I take things more seriously, what would that mean? Fuck Cameron, Fuck Corbyn. :) Artisan wall brackets are a cartoonists Middle-England-Neo-Folk wood carving and gargoyle head, violently undermined by towels and rugs printed digitally using café-press, a low-cost, American print service. Fountains are anomalies too, more so in the home, where their function is to calm with the natural sound of trickling water. The fountains unnatural mechanics undermine its function but who cares what goes on behind the scenes as long as you can chill out. ☯ -- Jake Kent lives and works in Nottingham, he co-directs Triple O.G. and is currently studying on The School of the Damned.
