Jake liked Sherry pretty much straight away and I will die on this hill. In the 'Collections' of RE6 Jake's bio states he has an "unapproachable aura" and "even his fellow mercenaries consider him to be moody and distant." Yet within a few hours (mere hours! It's canon!) of meeting Sherry, Jake is being honest and vulnerable by opening up to her about the traumatic near death experience he had in South America. And why wouldn't he because Sherry seems sweet and earnest, and he (correctly imo) identifies her as someone he can be emotionally vulnerable with almost straight away. (Has he even had any emotional support from anyone since his mother died? 🥹)

Even Sherry is like "why are you telling me this?? 🤨" lmao and he follows up by making a wider point about death and asks questions about the Ustanak, but he did not have to volunteer that deeply personal information to get the answers! He chose to do that! He chose to be emotionally vulnerable with her! Jake, my guy, you've known this woman for like 3 hours, chill.
