Families and childhoods are tricky things. I understand that. But also, there’s an inclination to just want to skirt around that kind of thing, and I think it’s weird. That’s the whole thing about silence around uncomfortable information. You shouldn’t be silent about those things, and I decided I wasn’t gonna be silent about what happened to me, in hopes that if somebody reads it, and they wanted to talk about things that happened to them, too, maybe this would help them a little bit.
