danny always happened to be in the right place. whether it was wrong or right was always a coin flip -- but given the fact that he’s somewhere in the boonies in fucking indiana ? he feels unnerved, having seen the town sign from shine for about three months. the other things were harder to discern outside from that; his dreams often were. after the bus had stopped woefully at the town center, he had walked aimlessly for what felt like hours. growing impatient, he picks a road, a road that felt good, and starts up it. hell, hopefully a good samaritan would drive him to indianapolis after all this. though as the town behind him thins out, he grows ever more on edge. electricity fills the air, uncomfortably so. he feels like a crack has been torn -- earthquake ? did indiana even have those ? then, as if a ping ! went off in his head,
( hospital gown, a row of small -- child’s beds ).
and he saw him. narrowing his eyes, he tries to make him come into focus. a kid ? though then he saw the fire around him. not REAL fire, not here fire, shining fire as if he was or had been engulfed. he hasn’t worked out how to tell the difference yet. but does it matter ? “ hey, hey -- ” he’s walking away from him, not on purpose, but that’s how it ended up being. he notices the kid’s appearance. hospital gown. he speeds up a little, but pulls back, he doesn’t want to scare him. “ hey, kid. you lost ? ” / @jasonbrenner
