-You likely caught his attention due to your own scientific endeavors. The cadaver has eyes everywhere, and he at some point decides whatever you're working on garners a closer look.

-He will initially try to embed a spy into your life, but you prove smart enough to evade his cronies. That will push him to insert himself into your affairs, likely with an offer to assist with your research.

-By that point, you likely have some idea of what's going on. You understand that it would be stupid to try pushing the holder away, either because you want his expertise in the supernatural, or because you don't want him to kill you and take your stuff.

-If you have a moral compass, now is the time to discard it.

-Oh, and buy plenty of Febreeze if you don't want your workspace constantly smelling like cigarettes. You may also want to invest in some heavy duty cleaning supplies, because your work will be taking a very grimey turn.

-He likely won't show much appreciation for your humor. He won't outright discourage it, especially if you prove yourself to be useful. Your chemistry puns or observational quips will only get grumbles and groans.

-Jeagar will never love you, but don't feel bad because he doesn't love anyone. However, all this time spend working with you will cause him to respect you and your work quite a bit.

-If you keep quiet about the ethical concerns regarding his more deranged experiments, assuming you cared about that to begin with, he will aquire whatever you wish for your own studies. Books, plutonium, a hundred human eyes, all you need is to ask and you shall receive.

-In the end, your siding with such a universally hated individual will no doubt drive away all your friend and family, and you'll likely find yourself the target of those who are most against the holders.

-Howver, you will also receive Jeagar's protection and fascination. He will entertain your wildest whims and provide access to some...unique opportunities.

-He may ever select you to join his closest circles, and help rid you of the disgusting human flesh that makes you so inferior.

-Assuming you have flesh that is.

Does any of the ZoP cast have pets?

Quick notif that there's an anonymous ask just like this that I won't answer for brevity's sake! Anyway!!

Daniel has his racoons ofc! They aren't forced to stay at the Marble Palace, but he does give them names and such.

Jeagar has a butt load of hairless cats that Androcta helps him care for. They're about the only thing in the world that helps him feel happy anymore.

Ferris doesn't have pets per say, but he likes to watch and feed the bugs and rodents that end up in his place.

Aldin likes to steal lizards and snakes from the nearby zoo, including komodo dragons. Sylvain always makes him bring them back though. >:(

Is there anything you havent mentioned that jeagar is unexpectedly soft for?

This one's not exactly unexpected, but he actually adores animals others consider pests. Cockroaches, rats, opossums, he goes heart eyes for anything riddled with disease that eats garbage. They're just like him fr 💕

Oh!! Jeagar also likes cats quite a bit. Especially hairless ones, they're so funky.

Far to the north, in a frozen wasteland separated from civilization by entire oceans, two creatures wandered without direction. One was a tall, solemn ghost of a man whose body was eternally cursed by the cold. He smelt of freezerburnt, rotting meat. The other, a smaller thing, was a dark skeleton who wore a chunk of flesh against the left half his face. His bones smelt of carcinogens and burnt cigarettes.

Neither creature said a word since they arrived in this strange place. Jeagar could harbor a guess as to why. John had objected to the idea of leaving their home realm the second it was proposed . "Ooooh, but what if we cause irreparable damage to the cosmos?? Man was not intended to leave the universe he was birthed in, oooohh," was the jist of his frozen friend's objections. Honestly, Jeagar only half listened to John when he went on his little altruistic tangents.

He was disappointed by his associate's lack of vision, but not surprised. John was never the type to look at the bigger picture. After all, he had a tendency to focus on what could go wrong instead of what could go right. Besides, it was not as though they had come to mindlessly gawk at foreign oddities. Jeagar had also come with slightly good intentions.

For six months before the two undead came to this world, the skeletal holder came into contact with an unnamed, badly injured wanderer lost in this snowy desert. The two would converse back and forth about the terrible beasts this doomed soul was forced to confront on a near daily basis. Interestingly, they would always seem to wriggle their way out of any bad situation they faced, usually in some fantastical, paragraph-lengthy manner.

Whoever this person was, they were clearly someone of great magical talent. They would no doubt make a useful ally, or a good specimen for a Necromance undead if they finally did succumb to the elements.

During the aimless travels of the two undead, they finally came across something of note. It was an ominously fresh trail of blood, clearly created by something large. Perhaps an injured animal had been dragged through the snow recently. Looking ahead, Jeagar could tell the macabre path went on for at least a few miles.

"Was that your friend?" John asked meekly as he pointed to the horizon, finally breaking the lengthy silence.

"Could be," Jeagar spoke through his persistently grinding teeth. "I suppose the only way to know for sure is to follow it."

These abysmal noises seemed to be coming from the insides of the nearest kitchen...wonder what kind of animal it could be?

Jeagar jolted awake at his writing desk, and turned his head to the doorway leaning downstairs. Just what in the hell was that? Did Ann come home early? No, she was never that noisy, she knew better than that. Was it Ferris time of the month (so to speak) already? No, it would not be a full moon for at least another week or so.

With an annoyed sigh, the cadaver took the ivory-handled revolver he hid under his desk and headed downstairs. The only other sound to accompany him were bony footsteps against mossy stone. Whatever was down there, he would be rid of this intruder quickly.
