@thepiratehero ‘is it okay to say that I’m jealous?’
“Of… prince Phillip?” Emma almost needed to sit down after such an unexpected statement from the usually shy prince. Prince Phillip (the second) had held her particularly close during the dance, and his looks of interest had been obvious. But Emma had still chosen to leave the ball earlier to go for a walk with Killian, feeling much easier to breathe. Not the Phillip was dangerous or inappropriate, but she didn’t know how to let him down easily.“Why would you-what would you… You and I danced too…” Not the issue. “Jealous of… what exactly?”

Killian couldn’t explain why he had felt that way. He had never felt jealous of anyone before. Somehow seeing him holding Emma so close had made him nearly want to go hit the other prince. Something that was not in character for him. “I suppose,” he admitted, biting his lower lip and looking down at the ground. “I don’t know. Just, . . How close he was holding you… It . . um… Upset me… I guess… I don’t know why.”
”Would you... like to hold me like that?” Ah yes, what a great, fantastic idea. But damn it, she was an adult, she shouldn’t have felt so scared of asking - and especially considering her experiences - of discussing this. But instead of just the simple fear she always felt over any kind of intimacy between her and a potentially attractive man, she was flustered as well, and worried about misunderstanding on top of it.
