Ruth Jebet y Selemon Barega se coronan en Venta de Baños

Venta de Baños vivió un verdadero espectáculo gracias a los atletas que se dieron cita en la XXXVIII edición del tradicional Cros de la localidad palentina. La carrera femenina y la masculina respondieron a lo que se esperaba de ellas, aunque los guiones fueron totalmente diferentes.

Ruth Jebet, campeona olímpica de 3.000 obstáculos, dio la sorpresa del día al imponerse en una bonita carrera a la keniata Alice Aprot, subcampeona del mundo de campo a través. La etíope con pasaporte de Bahrein paró el crono en 25.45 tras un fulminante ataque en la segunda vuelta, cuando consiguió descolgarse de la keniata con un ataque fulminante. Tras conseguir demarrar, Jebet mantuvo un ritmo constante ante el que nada pudo hacer Aprot, que no consiguió dar alcance a su rival. Tercera fue la española Gebre Trihas, que supo mantener la posición sin cebarse en la búsqueda de la segunda plaza.

También hubo sorpresa en la categoría masculina, donde dos de las grandes promesas del fondo mundial se habían citado en Venta de Baños. Selemon Barega y Jacob Kiplimo, ambos aún menores de edad, mantuvieron un duelo legendario que se saldó con la victoria de Barega en un esprint para recordar (31.09). El etíope se impuso gracias a su mejor final a pesar de que el ugandés trató de soltarle con varios ataques desde la segunda vuelta. Tras ellos llegó el inglés Goolab, que se impuso al español Ilas Fifa en los últimos metros. Justo por detrás de ellos llegó Javi Guerra, que no perdió sus opciones de podio en una carrera demasiado rápida para sus intereses.

Venta de Baños vivió su gran fiesta del atletismo y demostró, un año más, que los atletas que acuden se encuentran entre los mejores fondistas del mundo.

I think you are a huge positive. Like idk that sounds sorta lame and a little like ‘you are such a great person’ blah bla blah but really, I think you are so genuinely just bright! The beauty that you see in things and the way you spread laughter and happiness! Having to try really hard and work really hard but making it look fun! Those are things that I can only ever do on special occasions, that are incredibly hard to be and do and see and make. I always smile when you are online, my days are always a little brighter with you in them. Which again sounds clichee but the way that I see you online and I see you navigate your life (or the bits that you tell me of it) even in boring and tedious and stupid things, when the flame kinda burns low and it’s hard to be all that bright and happy, you still have such a bright aura around you. I don’t know how else to put it, but it’s just so permanent, even if it changes shape and color sometimes. I think you are a very strong person for being able to have that.

strawberry is what I secretly think

I am secretly a bit protective over you i think. i want to kind of shelter you from things that you probably dont need sheltering from and definitely dont need sheltering from from some weird person on the other side of the world. Also I really wish I could hug you, I feel like you give great hugs.

hey im sorry you had to go through that at work today. i think it was very brave of you to call him out. he's completely in the wrong and it's not just a "matter of opinion". i've had to deal with similar coworkers and i haven't always had the courage to say anything so i have a lot of respect for that. it's not your responsibility to help him see reason but you did your best anyways. i hope you're feeling better now and i hope one day her understands why he is wrong. lots of love. xx

and yeah me too, we can have ‘opinions’ on whether grasshoppers are better than crickets or whether the sky is nicer when its dawn or dusk but sometimes, for serious stuff like this that really effects and hurts ppl, its really not just an opinion, ur just wrong..
