off topic for a quick sec but i recently read fifty shades for the first time (i watched the movie back in high school) to see if it was freaky as mass media was making it out to be…

what did i think of steve’s proposal? fuckass proposal but hey let’s give him some credit by giving it more thought rather than having chatgpt write it for him 😭

THIS QUESTION omg i’ve been laying in bed staring at the ceiling deadass for a good 15 minutes just to ponder this… so like, we all get that steve is clearly possessive over reader—like it’s as clear as climate change at this point HOWEVER i feel like after that encounter with bucky and ESPECIALLY at the end when reader in her sluggish drugged state gushing over bucky, i think it’ll definitely make steve more insatiable than he already is (so the insatiable in him goes from like 101% to 199% these are definitely legitimate percentages i take no srgument on this) so on top of her kisses and cries, it’s only when reader meets bucky (at least based on my memory) that steve actually witnesses her smiling and not being miserable for the first time—does this mean that he’ll go soft for reader? my money’s on him trying to force the same laugh from her simply because she’s “his property” and that means that only he gets access to anything that could ever come out from reader 😔 right now, if anyone were to ask him, he’d refuse to admit that he’d willingly go soft for reader without an ulterior motive (but then again he’s also a guy that doesn’t really need to do the ulterior motive thing around reader since, in his mind, reader should be submissive to his every word to begin with) anywho, i definitely can picture a moment between reader and steve where he ends up flubbing something up unintentionally which makes reader giggle a bit, but then he stares back at her, she remembers that he’s the devil personified and then shuts herself up unless she’s willing to get railed close to death again, which in turn makes steve simutaneously frustrated and upset because how the fuck can bucky make reader smile and giggle without trying but steve can’t get those same reactions? she’s his property after all?? tf??? in the end, it’s not really about steve wanting reader’s affection let alone love but the fact that any and all her emotions and actions belong to him—after all, exploiting his image and taking advantage of his power is all steve’s pretty much ever known, it’s gonna take quite a while for reader to break through all that and have him going soft for her (if it ever happens, that is)

oh steve’s deifnitely planning bucky’s murder as we speak that’s as clear as musk’s n*zi salute

anyways those are my takes on the questions, but i just wanna bring up some things

TONY MF STARK like as soon as he is on steve’s bs like it all just CLICKS like—i remember reading the first part about tony drowning in alcohol cuz of the darkness of the job, only to find out that darkness IS steve oooh the plot is PLOTTING i see your game queen 😭

the PARENTS?? geez if i never read a more fucked up version of beauty and the beast (yunno in the sense that they gave their child away to a guy but instead out of fear it’s because of steve’s charm, and only reader is subject to his ugliness 😶)

And also yes exactly. Spot on. STEVE wants to be the reason she has stars in her eyes. Not out of niceness but because she’s his and so her source of anything (happiness, excitement etc) should solely be HIM. And definitely not another man. Steve’s ego just won’t allow it. But it’ll be interesting to see if this just makes him more awful and barbaric or if he perhaps changes tack and subconsciously tries to win her approval (in his own egotistical, maniacal, meathead way of course)

And yep haha, Steve would make Bucky’s murder look like an accident. But would he go that far? Or would he rather just focus on reader and somehow make her forget about Bucky? Idk…

I really enjoyed writing Tony Stark! I don’t even like the character much but he’ll be a funny foil for Steve. I mean Steve doesn’t even see Tony as competition in any way or form. But just how much does Tony know about Steve’s dark “habits”? 🤔

The parents of reader I think are just super innocent and huge fans is Steve. They just can’t imagine his intentions would be anything less than pure. So they trust him 🥺 and LMFAO Peggy really did a number on Steve, you’re right. Or is Steve just an unreliable narrator? Who knows haha.

and C’MON wanda definitely snitched to curtis about her and y/n being at steve’s… the thing i’d be thinking about is more on how does ari find out? like, does curtis tell that much to tell ari?? does curtis even care about y/n enough (or at all) to do that? or does he just tell ari out of loyalty?? how do we know if wanda wasn’t lying about ari being away from campus just to get reader to stay at the party??? if it wasn’t wanda, for sure steve’s frat bros people would’ve noticed y/n at the party because of her fit (or even the convo between her and wanda, catching on that they’re not even from st. jude’s) and word just gone down the grapevine, quickly making it down to ari… honestly i feel like it had to be any of those ways unless if ari just had some reader-radar 💀

anyways, back to my first point, i’m curious to see the alternate ending if it continued down this path… would we still encounter steve’s issues? would they be exposed in a way where reader would still be scared off and untrusting to guys just like in the original story?? would the alternate ending not even be an alternate ending because y/n still goes back to ari in the end??? i know you probably don’t have answers for this last part because, like you said, it’s a detour—but i got thoughts 😭

OK so with Curtis… I think he just loves the drama tbh. Bc look at how he was during the gala scene at the end of WG4 — he was enjoying all the carnage and revelations. He truly doesn’t give a f about any of the girls, he just finds it amusing when shit hits the fan. That’s why he would’ve told Ari — he was probably bored for the night and needed some entertainment. That, and he also has that brotherhood loyalty towards Ari (I mean that in itself is questionable since he was hitting on y/n in chapter 2 but ehh, he still has that brotherhood loyalty a little bit).

As for your other question, I think even in this alternate AU setting, we may have still encounters Steve’s problems. I did allude to it a little bit with how he drank the grey goose straight from the bottle he had stashed next to his bed. That’s a bit of a hint of his problems. And he’s still the same character so he does still have those anger issues, and they would’ve come to light in front of reader at some point or the other.

my guess for wg3 is that steve tries to make y/n his girlfriend but y/n is struggling to say yes because of her feelings for ari

ari, upset that y/n has gone radio silent since the party, takes up sharon’s *drunken* suggestion that they all go on a double-date. y/n finally agrees to go out with steve, believing she should be able to move on and stop worrying about someone who’s clearly taken and won’t fight for her

ari and steve basically have a subtle one-uppance throughout the date just to see who can win over y/n by the end of the night

ari gets a moment with y/n (that surprisingly doesn’t involve sex) and tries to persuade that steve isn’t a good guy, we finally get to hear their history (but since it’s coming from ari, it’s clearly just one part of the story)

y/n asks if ari’s going through all this trouble, why can’t he just break up with sharon, to which we still don’t get an answer for—so, running out of patience, y/n goes to steve and they have their heart-to-heart

and either steve’s completely honest about how he feels for y/n or we know he’s lying just how ari was from the beginning, and unfortunately y/n falls for it

by the end of the date, y/n sticks with her gut and chooses steve, because where ari can deliver anything she wants to hear—steve has the ability to pull through

and maybe steve takes y/n’s anal virginity while she wears nothing but his varsity jacket who knows 🫠

what if one day, while omega’s out doing a grocery run with rosie (despite steve insisting endlessly that they have people to do errands for them, but ever since that one day he got peggy to drop off the groceries, omega’s taking charge and doing her own groceries maybe as a distraction from her husband and his assistant), she’s pulled out of her thoughts when she overhears a rap that quickly becomes catchy to her

she thinks she’ll never hear it again, but when she starts to notice that same rap just about every week doing the groceries, curiosity overcomes her, and she just has to find out who this man is! and hearing that it’s close enough that the source of the rap is in the next isle over, omega grabs the jar of baby food to put in the cart before pushing it to the next isle

the guy who’s rapping looks similar to steve, but knows it couldn’t possibly be him he can’t rap to save his life, she thinks

“let me guess, you’re brenner?” she asks, recalling from his rap. shy as she was, omega’s proud of herself for opening up—given that she’s usually shy

pete finds omega adorable as she tries to not fumble over her words while complimenting his rapping skills—it’s endearing to him, really

since they usually are at the grocery store around the same time every week, they soon become friends, and before you know it—pete offers to deliver omega’s groceries instead, because he “doesn’t want her to tire those pretty legs of hers” besides, an omega should just worry about looking after her kids, right?

so, omega tells steve that she stops going out to shop for groceries, and she stops asking him to send groceries to the house (when it’s really peggy that does the deliveries anyways) however, omega doesn’t specify who exactly is making these deliveries, just that she has the people steve’s already employed to send groceries to her (not that his employees can be bothered enough to care anyways, it’s less work for them)

but when peggy pulls up to the house (steve sent her out to send a bouquet to omega as a spontaneous romantic gesture, though she’s likely planning to manipulate the context to omega and make her even more insecure), without warning to omega, what does peggy do when she sees omega talking to someone in a car that clearly doesn’t belong to steve?

would peggy take photographic evidence to show to steve? though is might backfire on her, since steve will just get pete killed and shower omega with even more attention than before

OR

does peggy wait to see how long this plays out in hopes that omega will choose to leave steve for pete on her own? i mean, all peggy really has to do is feed insecurities to omega’s baby brain while being sent to pete’s arms for comfort

I think Steve and omega would clear it up though. But I think before Steve expresses anger over Pete, he’d express insecurity. He is drunk after all, and he’d tell her that he still loves her even if she cheats on him, and he’ll always love her and that he’d forgive her if she cheated on him because he doesn’t want to live a life without her 🥺🥺 (he’s saying all this while drunk) and omega is like !!!! “I didn’t cheat on you !!! That was just some guy at the supermarket who kept talking to me!”

And Steve is like all relieved like “really?🥺” before his usual douchiness kicks in “pffft I knew that” and then he orders to have Pete killed the end.

meaning steve survives and he starts to change for the better—reader helps him overcome his drinking habits and anger issues and eventually gets him back to playing basketball

fast forward like 10 years later and ari and steve play against each other like PROFESSIONALLY like in the nba

the thing is, even though steve’s gotten so far in his career, he’s been thinking about retiring (atp he and reader have a kid) and ari has a rep for being like a sucky player (ig this happens after reader decides to officially leave him? i haven’t seen challengers in like forever 💀)

but the real tea is that while ari and steve play against each other, ari and reader have sex the night before the game 😶 steve finds out like halfway thru the game, and suddenly his anger issues return for like a hot minute…

then by the end of the game, he gets over it and he and ari makes up somehow? steve ends up winning and then i guess they become a throuple at the end???
