Jing Lei was taking some time to get something at Covaire Grill, a usual stop for him after he was done with grading his classes’ biology papers. The chthonic would otherwise have gone to Veggie Roofs to get ingredients for some more traditional Singaporean cuisine. But he didn’t feel like cooking today, and JJ and her staff made good food. He was currently tucking into a chicken wrap with a side of sweet potato fries when someone grabbed his attention.

“Don’t just stand there. There’s plenty of room at this table.”

Last Moments

There they were. The steps of this city's government. And the bomb was ready. It'd be a quick job. Just had to set the bomb and leave. Then make sure to call as much attention to the area as possible and click the remote from a safe distance. But life was never that easy. Damn the fucker, Murphy, and his law. The loud siren to bring people in was working, but the remote? No signal.

Of course. They build a bomb and don't make it right... That's fantastic. But he remembers the failsafe at that moment. It's designed to activate if he gives it his Chthonic fragment. And what better way to be remembered than to be a martyr for the cause? So he rushed back to the bomb, cutting down anyone regardless of whether they'd been friend to him over the last three years or not, yelling as he went.

More powerful supernaturals began to swarm him in an attempt to overpower him, slay him, or otherwise. But he was too quick for them because of the other bombs across the city or being just out of range.

He looks up the Dominion steps as those who would try to foolishly slay or capture him leaped at him then to his last ever attackers. He then tears into his own chest and grabbing that dark shard of his existence as he yells to the sky, “For the glory of Northern Light City!” Even more attention is brought to him for that brief moment before he falls into the rip in reality as the contents of the pocket dimension burst forth.

In that space, for but the briefest of moments, he smiles while his heart gives out. He has done well and will be remembered. Then everything goes dark.

Terrorist V "Crazed Child"

Jing lei had almost arrived at his destination when he heard snarling. He turned to see a younger woman, an Elysian he'd only met rather recently. And she was oh so childlike. But something was off about her at the moment. And he was not in the mood to be stopped.

"Nore. Back down, or I'll cut you down. This is your only warning."

This was not going the way it was supposed to. So many of his comrades had already fallen. But in the end, Jing Lei was all about himself. The fallen would be glorified in the minds of the survivors. And he had shit to do.

If there was time to mourn his brethren later he would. But now his time had come as the last bomb went off other than his. One glorious bloodbath as he made his way to his objective.

As he drew the silver blade from its place at his side, he spotted three injured Covaire citizens. These single ladies knew him. They thought he was an ally. So they flocked to his side. And he could’ve killed them. Instead he enjoyed himself with them in the place they’d barricaded themselves into. After all, it calmed them down and none of them knew if they’d survive. So why not enjoy themselves in their possible last moments?

Then he left to find help. At least that’s what the compulsion on the three would have them remember. Instead, only one of his partners would survive the attack that came next, the others suffering grisly murders at the hands of Northern Light members he’d sent after them. And that survivor would have the terrorist’s heir, but have no memory of the encounter that “blessed” her with the child. Or the knowledge that Jing Lei had attempted to have her and her friends all killed after having their fun. The injuries from the concussions she’d take while killing the attackers, and falling unconscious from her injuries would see to that.

Others who got in his way would have swifter dealings with him at his blade, or whatever Northern Light had in store for him to accomplish. But arguably a swift death was the nicer way to go. But Jing Lei was now truly known for what he was, no longer hiding behind the guise that he was Covaire’s friend.

The blood on the Chthonic was a mix of his and others. Nobody would question someone right now who'd been attacking and defending themselves. Long gone was the sweet face of the kindly high school teacher. His eyes were burning holes and his curved, spiral horns were out. So a few of the unfortunate encounters he'd had thus far where his cover had almost been blown had left him with even more evidence that he simply was a threat, but trying to find a safe haven.

As he approached, limping a bit and brandishing a tire iron he'd covered in a tincture of wolfsbane he'd acquired since leaving Lazarus High's grounds, he called out to the girl. "Friend or Foe? I don't want to have to fight you."

Time to Move (Lazarus High)

Jing Lei looked up from teaching his class as the room rumbled slightly. For now, he did nothing but seeing to the kids. They were going to hate it to learn that he was not their friend. But there was no glory in killing youngsters. But getting a feed off them as they began panicking was a completely different thing. The high schoolers began to pass out as he approached them "to calm them".

And he'd have left it at that if one of the other teachers hadn't caught him in the act before he finished draining enough from the room to force them all to pass out from stress. The teacher from the room next door, Lisa Parrish, tried to yell, but quickly gave in to an implanted compulsion he'd placed on her during the multiple times the werewolf had met him to fuck each other.

"Lisa, the kids are feeling under the weather, please take them to your room and hunker down there. I have something to see to."

The younger supernatural just stood there, her gaze wide as though he wasn't even there. Had it not worked, the silvered blade under his vest would've had to be used. Now he had to make his way to his things and meet up with his true people. Whether the school would be spared wasn't up to him, but he'd at least give the two classes a chance unless otherwise directed.

A few other teachers and one of the security guards wouldn't be as lucky to see any more days as he made his way out of the school. No witnesses would be left to pursuit him as he left the grounds.
