Bevin and Medrit family clan tree
Yes I added boba to the clan tree and his family
DM: Jintar is really nervous. "Who are you people? Are you the Resistance?"
Billie (gnome ardent): No, and you wouldn't want to get mixed up with them, would you?
DM: Bluff check.
Billie: ...14.
DM: He squeaks. "I need to get back, I'll be missed-"
Thaddeus (khajiit paladin): You're not going anywhere, Jintar.
DM: His eyes widen. "Are you going to kill me?"
Thaddeus: No! But I need to put you to sleep.
DM: He starts crying. "Oh my god! Please don't kill me!"
Thaddeus: Sleep! I literally mean sleep!
DM: He struggles, but you successfully put the sleeper hold on Jintar and lay him gently on the couch. Lady Adaria puts her head in her hands. "I can't believe he was a spy. I've met with him several times. He seemed spotless."
Billie: *sharply* Don't put this on him. He was mind-controlled. He's just a pawn.
DM: She nods slowly.
Thaddeus: He can't go back to the palace until this is over. Do you have a safe house?
DM: Conflict nods. "We can hide him somewhere safe. How did you know about the mind control?"
Billie: We've been seeing a lot of it. Rule number one, you check everybody's eyes before you start a meeting. Understood?
DM: They nod meekly.
Seraph (siren sorcerer): I want to see the informant's face.
DM: Conflict shakes his head. "We maintain the anonymity of our informants for their safety."
Seraph: Sorry, sorry. You want us to go into the palace to try and assassinate one of the most powerful men in the city, while in the presence of another of the most powerful men in the city, on the information of this man whose face we're not allowed to see?
DM: Jintar looks at the others. The eladrin woman says, "I've seen his face."
Thaddeus (khajiit paladin): Does it have a scar?
DM: She looks confused. "No?"
Thaddeus: Then I accept.
Seraph: No offence, but since we've only just met you as well I'm withholding my trust.
Una (genasi artificer): What would it take to convince you, Seraph?
Seraph: I don't know, but seeing his face would help!
DM: Conflict explains the plan. "You'll meet our informant Jintar here at the servants' entrance to the palace. He'll lead you on a guaranteed safe route to the room where Vethiver will be meeting the mindflayer, and you will wait in an unguarded antechamber. As soon as Vethiver appears, you take action."
Billie (gnome ardent): And the body?
DM: "Feel free to leave it there. If you can get it out, though, we could make a symbol of it."
Seraph (siren sorcerer): *sarcastic* Did you also want us to kill the mindflayer you so casually mentioned while we're at it?
DM: The eladrin woman cuts in. "The mindflayer is not the target."
Seraph: But you think it'll just stand there and watch us chop its buddy Vethiver to pieces?
DM: "Well, it may defend itself."
Seraph: That's a big detail! I like my brain on the inside!
DM: The Divinity of Conflict and Lady Adaria say goodbye and start working out how to move Jintar to a safe house.
Thaddeus (khajiit paladin): What now?
Seraph (siren sorcerer): The God and the God, while we're in the Forest District.
Kjell (half-elf barbarian): We ask them if they would be offended if we brought someone in here and then killed them.
DM: They don't really care about the struggles of mortals. One says, "Besides, they might want to trade first."
Una (genasi artificer): We could trade '30 buckets' for 'death'.
Thaddeus (khajiit paladin): No! Nobody is allowed to use that one! We have no idea what 'death' would entail!!
Tati (playing Seraph): I'd like to examine the mask Jintar was wearing.
DM: It's a plain wooden mask.
Tati: Arcana check.
DM: It's mundane.
Tati: *frowns* I put it back.
Hamish (playing Thaddeus): If the mask wasn't mind-controlling him, I don't understand. It dropped so suddenly and so completely.
Tati: It could have been part of the instructions. 'If you're forced to remove the mask, come back to your senses.'
Hamish: True.
Andy (playing Una): I pull down the wrapping on Jintar's face. Do I recognise him?
DM: No. He's just a dude.
DM: Jintar comes back a moment later without the mask, but with most of his head wrapped up.
Una (genasi artificer): His eyes?
DM: They're clear. He looks around the room curiously.
Thaddeus (khajiit paladin): *relieved* Okay, then-
Seraph (siren sorcerer): What day is it, Jintar?
Thaddeus: What?
Seraph: He was mind-controlled.
Una: What are you talking about?
Seraph: When Heron's Fall woke up they were disoriented. Like Jintar is now.
Thaddeus: *exasperated* You're being ridiculous, Seraph.
Billie: *sharply* What day is it, Jintar? Look at me.
DM: "What... day?" He looks around.
Billie: *forceful* Look in my eyes. Why are you here?
DM: He opens his mouth, confused. "I... I'm-"
Thaddeus: *gaping* Holy shit.
Seraph: I slowly take my staff off my back.
Billie: Don't look at anyone else. How did you get here?
DM: He looks around in growing agitation. "...I don't know."
Seraph: Who are they? *points to Conflict and the woman*
DM: Jintar shakes his head, blinking. "I... I've never seen the man before. The woman is Lady Adaria." The eladrin woman exclaims in shock. "Jintar! I told you, no real names!"
Thaddeus: I can't believe it.
DM: Jintar is looking confused and afraid. "Where am I? I have to get back, I have duties-"
Billie: What's the last thing you remember?
DM: He rubs his head. "I was setting a hearth in the guest wing, and now I'm talking to you."
Thaddeus: Do you have other skips in your memory in the past few weeks?
DM: "A couple... Doesn't everyone?"
Una: ...No.
Billie (gnome ardent): So we think, what, Jintar is setting up the Resistance?
Thaddeus (khajiit paladin): We need to see his eyes.
Billie: Steve! We're ready to talk to you!
DM: They come back. "Excellent! Do you accept this mission?"
Billie: No.
DM: "Oh."
Billie: We have a counter-proposal. We think we can lure Vethiver to us and attack him on our terms.
DM: Conflict and the woman look at each other. He says, "That has potential. How would you lure him?"
Billie: We need to see Jintar's face if we're going to move forward. That's non-negotiable.
DM: "That's not possible. We can't ask him to compromise his identity."
Seraph (siren sorcerer): He doesn't need to show us enough of his face to identify him. Just his eyes.
DM: Conflict and Jintar converse in low voices for a moment. Jintar looks unhappy, but goes into the next room.
