sesame, jiwon’s cat, had become like one of the family amongst heni’s own cats, who’d taken to their new, on-off resident particularly well. heni hasn’t known at first that sesame belonged to anyone, but in a small town, where everyone knows everyone, he’d soon learnt who’s cat she was.
ever since then heni had been inviting jiwon over for tea whenever sesame was lingering around his house particularly often, just to make sure jiwon and sesame spent as much time as possible together - heni would hate to be the reason jiwon didn’t see her often. today was one of those days, heni having laid out his favourite tea set, water slowly boiling as he awaits the arrival of his guest.
sesame lays in her favourite spot, curled up on a knitted blanket that had fallen off the arm of heni’s armchair many weeks prior, and he’d not picked up once he figured out how much sesame liked to sleep there. he admires her, slight guilt still niggling at his insides as he thinks about how he’s, in a way, depriving jiwon of his time with his pet, but, jiwon hadn’t seemed angry, or accused heni of stealing sesame, so he hoped, deep down, jiwon didn’t hold a grudge.
if he did, heni thought, he’d try his very hardest to make it up to him through the regular invites to tea, freshly baked buns always ready on the side especially for jiwon.
