My new job I have orientation for on Tuesday sent an email with videos they suggest watching beforehand so I can “get out of there up to 2 1/2 hours early” and my response is screw that. I’m already only getting minimum wage for this day, you don’t get to short me like $20.

I’ll fill out some documents beforehand, but I require getting paid to watch a video. Same principle behind why I don’t do my online trainings while I’m working a shift. Pay me for my time or else I’ll figure out how to submit paperwork so I get paid for doing that training on the clock.

I'm doing my orientation at a new job my first day. They're having me watch the sexual harassment video and as soon as I sit down my pants split. Stood up to check the damage and sat down again. Pants split more. There's a glass window behind me. Oh the inhumanity oh the irony. Luckily the HR lady thought it was funny and let me duck out to buy a fresh pair of pants.

Job orientation was fine. The stuff we were supposed to do on the computers wasn’t working so we helped out in the garden center for a couple hours & got paid for that time which is nice.
