The negative is comparable to the composer's score, and the print to its performance.

Vivian Maier (1926 - 2009)
_
0120547- New York, NY July 23, 1954 Burnt Chair. Modern gelatin silver print 30 × 30 cm
Near the end of her life (2005-9) some of her negatives were accidentally purchased at auction by John Maloof who was looking for depictions of Chicago in the 60’s. John was so inspired by her work that tried photography himself copying her style. He then appreciated her work so much that managed to buy and reconstruct almost 90% of her archive known today. - vivian maier/history/ official site
