Man the schuyler sisters sure we're hot meme by me
Jontron.
To start off, yes, I'm very late. And yes, no one knows who I am and/or really cares about what I'm going to express here. but, I still want to convey my emotions after doing a lot of research into why jon has become/(apparently always has been) such an asshole. if anything, my main emotion is just heartbroken. I have such fond memories of finding jontron and realizing his sense of humor portrayed in his content was so compatible to my own. he was so different from many of the content creators I watched at the time, besides game grumps obviously. after looking from different perspectives (to the best of my ability) and rereading and rereading what jon tweeted in march, it's so difficult to really accept the person he is, over the person I thought he was for years. every part of me wants to pretend like none of this happened and he's still the bright, funny, and light-hearted person I always thought he was. but, when faced with "opinions" such as the ones he is so desperate to express, I find myself having to draw a line somewhere. and, jon has undoubtedly, as well as obviously crossed that line for a majority of people. However, where I stand is convoluted at best. It's like the line is dotted for me due to my previous impressions of him, and how in his content I still see and believe said impressions. To put it simply, if I, theoretically, were friends with jon, I would be happy to hang out with him anytime, as long as anything controversial didn't come up in conversations. He seems like a good person without the aspect of his personality thats so controversial as well as incredibly offensive. And, I guess all people would be better if they removed the bad aspects of their personality but, still. He wouldn't be a bad person if he wasn't himself :/ I still support him and his content, just, from a distance and in ignorance. thank you for reading if you've read this far. and, as much as another opinion really isn't needed on this topic, I still felt the need to share. have a great day <3
I'd like to clarify: I do not support Jon's beliefs. I do not follow his political stances. I follow his channel strictly for the comedy content he produces. I tried to stay out of the chaos that came out with him, and continues to come out. I just wanted to voice my opinion on the fact that I thought it was not that good of a reason to cut him out of the game entirely, especially since the game is already finished. Now, I know it's the devs' choice, and what's done is done, and I get they decided to remove him for the chaos. But publicly stating that it was his personal beliefs (in all honesty thanks to the Anon who clarified) was not the best move, and cutting him out because of personal beliefs is not entirely a good reason. But that's just my two cents.
JONTRON SPAM BECAUSE HES THE BIRTHDAY BOY
YEAH, FUCK OPINIONS. - Jontron tag (2017)
So the Yooka-Laylee team cut Jon's cameo after everything that happened, with their official comment saying they did it because they "don't support his personal views and political statements." Like, what does that matter if all he is doing is a voice acting cameo that is just him making noises like in Banjo-Kazooie? I get what they are saying that they want to "create a game that everyone feels comfortable playing", but, honestly, would anyone be able to tell it was Jon's voice? And I'll be honest, I know nothing about this game or the character that Jon was suppose to Cameo, but still. And they said they are removing him in an update as the game is already finished. Which doesn't make as much sense to me either, but whatever just more work to do. I just feel they shouldn't use someone's personal beliefs as a means of cutting them out of a project. That's like cutting someone out of your group assigned school project because they have different views from you and you don't want the class to hate you. It's just dumb. The class won't hate you because of one person.
They said "personal viewpoints" not political beliefs. If you actually look up the shit he said. Like foreigners dilute the gene pool, it's clear JonTron is a racist. Why would a UK game developer want to associate their game with someone who says shit like that?
No need to swear, dude. And I tried to stay out of the stuff with Jon when it happened. All I’m saying is cutting someone out of a project for personal views doesn’t seem like that good of a reason to me.
They don't want their game to be associated with a racist. Even the makers of his favorite games don't want to associate with him.
When was he called a racist before? Also, they clearly stated “his personal political beliefs”. So your racism comment is coming out of left field to me.
