𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 , 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐞 , 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 before she feels prepared to respond , hands shoving themselves into sweatshirt pockets . ❝ well -- what else would i say to something like that , josie ? because i’m trying to think of what another answer would be , and i gotta admit , i’m having a hard time figuring it out . ❞ what a surreal world she’s entered into , she thinks , as she often does -- and always as she continues to exist and push further into that world . she sighs , shakes her head . she pauses , then , looking to josie again . ❝ wait . what do you mean ? ❞ does she mean that sarah is that predictable ? not impossible , because she is , but sarah’s not fond of that implication . does she mean that someone else has been in this sort of situation ? because sarah isn’t sure she’s fond of that any more than she is of the other possibility .
