They have bags under their eyes though it’s hard to see behind the glasses here. They’re also male, my splatoon art just kind of tends to end up...androgynous I guess?  It’s hard to make them not look this way without stepping out of the splatoony style and going full anime detail sorry  D: I did mute the shade of the skin SLIGHTLY so it looked more natural, color picking the ref you gave me resulted in a pretty bright glowing orange so I tried to soften it a bit so it looked like a true skin tone. Hopefully they turned out alright and I do hope you like how it turned out! PS- I know the glasses in game go over the tentacles, this way just felt more natural/comfortable somehow on the Inklings head.

Okay so here's the deal with joulejay:

They're a person who decides to edit other people's artwork and call it "fixed" by darkening a character's skin colour. So instead of using the tools that's readily available to them to make new drawings, they'd rather start drama with artists by showing them their "fixed" versions. On top of that they accuse the artist of racism and gets their tumblr pals to join in on their stupid crusade.

So if you see any post made by joulejay just keep in mind that they're a literal child who has a weak concept of any reality that lie beyond their own perception
