favorite thing about them
honestly martin is one of the stubbornly brave characters in the series. he practices some Very Real Avoidance if he can help it, but this man’s willingness to just set a goal and move towards it is insane. at the beginning of the series, he’s almost exclusively brave when others need it--going into vittery’s apartment to investigate for jon, for example--but over the course of the series he comes into being brave for himself, too, and it’s beautiful to watch.
least favorite thing about them
hmm, i’m torn between his sort of moral stubbornness (which is simultaneously one of my favorite traits of his adkfjflk) and his current avoidance streak, though both are justified given everything about his past and their current situation.

unpopular opinion
i totally get all the people thinking martin was being a bad boyfriend in the beginning of season 5, but also it takes a LONG time to learn how to navigate relationships after a lifetime of abuse. him being overly pushy/angry for a while is not surprising, nor is it even necessarily a bad thing from someone who’s actively trying to learn and grow.
