you really went off on your description of the goldfinch ending and i am...here for it. i love that book so much! i am both excited and terrified for the film adaptation

*looks into the camera like i’m i the office* wait what?!!? a movie? i don’t know how to feel about the prospect of witnessing theo’s story on a big screen. i am not convinced this story translates well into visual media, but i am ready to change my mind if the movie adaption does the book justice. it’s just that there is not that much plot as there is in many hollywood movies? i mean, the goldfinch is literary fiction – a genre mainly defined by character-driven storytelling with a lot of inner monologue and contemplation – and stories like this adapt poorly to movie standards in most cases... the screenplay as well as the cinematography and acting have to be phenomenally intricate to fully convey & capture the book's essence! it’s quite a challenge for everyone working on this movie.

i have too many conflicting feelings about this to think clearly. and maybe i am too bias to trust film makers after being let down time and time again by book-to-movie adaptions :’)

Thank you for this nice message. :) The video was not done with the direct intention of ~wooing~ (LMAO, omg) though I am nonetheless very much grateful to Tom that he took the time and that it’s something that put a smile on Gansey’s face.

Anyhow, yes, Gansey is my heart, we are a thing, and it sucks that we live far apart (at least we’re in the same country) but we’re making it work as best as we can, and hopefully if all goes to plan, we’ll be seeing one another sooner rather than later.
