starting the junji ito anime on netflix rn and the intro song is good

i love junji ito's work sm and the anime adaptations never hold a candle to the original manga so my expectations are not like suuuper high but im still excited :)) i hope its still good (just prob not in comparison to the manga, but i want it to hold up on its own)

Watching the new Junji Ito show on Netflix

Thoughts so far: it's... alright? Junji Ito stories work a lot better in the manga form and in black and white, and the use of 3d animation in some assets does stick out to me at times. The art and animation is fine, though it lacks the edge that original Junji Ito stories have

The first episode is weak. I haven't read the original story and i think they should've picked a better one to be the first episode. It just is more weird and humorous than creepy

The second one is not very good either. Not bad, but as i said before, Ito's stories work very well in black and white and in comic form. The first story here had some nice atmosphere at times.

The third one i actually liked and thought had some legitimately creepy moments! The 3d animation of the balloon heads was distracting at first but i got used to it. I think the manga is one of Ito's best too.
