There's just one road, one pub, and one distillery on Jura and a local population of 200 people. In fact, George Orwell called it the most un-get-at-able place with a distillery when he wrote Nineteen Eighty-Four on the island in the 1940's. With evidence of settlement on the island dating back to the Mesolithic period, the island still has stones and markings of their ancient past and Superstition is a nod to the ancient ways of the island inhabitants. An island of contrast with wild rocks and open sea on one side and calm sandy bay on the other, Isle of Jura distillery prides itself on producing contrast at the distillery with sweet (Origin) and smokey (Superstition) expressions, along with a few other rare expressions.
