Is it high time I introduce Zahir to my Tumblr in my attempts to slowly roll out more of my OC lore to the greater public? Yes. Yes it is. And as clarification, his initial design was by a user on Toyhouse named kinibee!
This is Zahir, and he’s the deity that presides over Temperance! So moderation, harmony—that’s his shtick. He’s also usually directly tied to the angels (hence the appearance). His nickname/title, “The Glenstrider,” comes from that idea of striding the line between too much and too little, where the glen is narrow but peaceful. He’s the 9th most popular deity in the pantheon, even if he’s technically on the Minor Deity tier. He was also “born” when the war between gods, primordials, and titans just started because mortals at the time felt lost and without direction, so Zahir was basically a god to pray to in order to stop from falling into vices. After that, he sort of morphed into the face of moral characteristics, though not really by choice. That sometimes makes him involuntarily tied to the hardcore zealots and fanatics acting in his name, which he does condemn.
Personality wise, he’s trying his best. Well-meaning, but oblivious—and a little overwhelming! But he’s kind, so he’d be one of the better deities to follow and why he’s also good friends with Mii. He loves art; painting is his favorite hobby, thus most temples/churches in his name usually have murals, very pretty stained glasses, sculptures, or are tied to the physical arts in some way. He loves passion.
He likes being in the mortal realm too. You’ll see him often if you personally call him out (and if he likes you).
On one hand I understand that the Manic Pixie Dream Girl can be a pretty damaging trope because it makes incel-adjacent dudes think they’re owed a quirky, extroverted girlfriend who’ll like them without them putting in any effort to better themselves and be any appealing to them but on the other hand I don’t think I can really say anything because I have a thing for quirky, extroverted middle aged men myself.
Well unexpected addition to the trip. We rescued a mom and her kittens from the patch of bromeliads in my old roommate’s back yard.
Mademoiselle,are- are you okay? You look a little *pause* pale?
*in a high pitched squeak*
I'm fine.
