"You know, I'm not exactly sure." Juvenal looked over at the large collection of branches and sticks that lay in a heap in the middle of the park. "It's just something I've always done. I mean, if I ever need them, they're right there. Always good to have. I mean, they stop your teeth getting too sharp and...and if you find a pointy one you could probably play mumblety-peg..." He was quiet again for a moment before shrugging and shaking his head. "I don't know. They just...make me happy."

"Yeah," he admitted quietly, almost as if the realisation surprised him too. "It's strange, but, I do like it here." his features softened as he looked around, taking in the familiar surroundings, the small safe space she'd unwittingly given him. "I don't usually stick around places too long. Not outside my home. But you...You didn't turn me away." He hesitated, a faint smile pulling at his lips. "I don't know why you're doing all this, but, thank you."

Juvenal stood silently, watching Adam closely. He cocked his head to one side, as if Adam was something unfamiliar but not immediately threatening. Just something that needed a good watching. "Trying...or dying." Juvenal mumbled, his voice low and gravelly, thick with a foreign accent. He shifted his weight subtly, his weak leg stiff. "What's the difference?" He blinked slowly, considering the words again, as if they were a puzzle he didn't quite understand. "Every day...you keep going. Or you don't. It's just what happens." There was no empathy in his tone, just logic. Or, at least, a wolf's logic. Juvenal's gaze never left Adam, still assessing him, though not in a predatory sense. "Why do you think you're dying?"

"you're beautiful, sweetie. hold all questions until the end." (Juvenal & Chad Meeks-Martin)

Juvenal raised an eyebrow at Chad's words, caught off guard by the unexpected terms of endearment. People didn't tend to be particularly sweetly spoken towards him. It wasn't unwelcome, but, it did render him suspicious. He cocked his head to the side, a flicker of confusion passing over his features. "Alright, Fine. I'll bite. What's all this about?" He curled up in the grass, pulling his knees to his chest. He tried to remain casual, but, his suspicion was clear. He wasn't used to be going relaxed around strangers and this was no different.

"Honestly? No, it wasn't." Juvenal's eyes widened a little as he watched another handful of branches collapse, caving in the small den he'd managed to build himself out of mud, leaves and sticks in Holland Park. "It...It's fine. Can you just...get a few more branches to prop it back up? I need to dig it open again..." He paused, sighing as he tried to figure out what he was supposed to do. "This wasn't normally my job. I'm still...I'm still learning."

"Huh?" Juvenal shook his head a little, waking himself up out of his daydream. "Sorry, you lost me for a moment there." He looked at her for a moment, trying to focus his attention that was struggling to stay tethered in place. "I was up all night digging. You'll have to excuse me." He gently pushed a plate towards her with a fresh cookie on it. "Here. I think the lady felt sorry for me, but, I don't eat...whatever those are. You can have it."

"Oh, really?" Juvenal grinned, looking up and over at Raphael from the other side of the picnic bench. The park was emptying out as the sun had all but set, but, there was a more pressing task keeping them there. "And it's not just because I asked you to help me eat this pizza, right? It's definitely my personality?" He chuckled to himself, not normally one to share just about anything, but, it wasn't going to stay edible for long and if he really was stuck here, he needed all the friends he could make.
