She's from a sect of the CoA that isn't violent per say, but is overzealous with the idea of "our way is the only correct way" mentality. As she grows up, she takes a step back and is like... But why? Aren't we all made of Atom? And takes this concept on the road with her and begins to love learning about other peoples and cultures

Thinking about the absolutely canon Preston Garvey cosplayer I saw at the con on Saturday. His outfit was PERFECT, his Lazer Rifle prop, PERFECT. When I asked if I could get a photo, he said "Only if you promise to help another settlement." Stayed in character AND EVEN HIS VOICE?? SOUNDED LIKE PRESTON???? Like I'm not entirely convinced that I didn't just meet the actual Preston Garvey

Had a dream last night where I could summon Yes Man at the click of a button at any minor inconvenience, but I used it exclusively to avoid having to talk to people. Someone would start talking to me, I'd immediately hit the button (which was like a fidget clicky thing) and he'd just spawn from around the corner and roll up like "Excuse meeee" and just push the other person away like an NPC trying to walk through another NPC.

MacCready Week 2026 Day 3: The Road

So when I was thinking about this prompt, I was struggling to think of an art piece and I was flipping through my notes app, seeing if I had any fanfic I could post instead and I stumbled across this note that my bf and I made about how we think the fo4 companions would drive/what kind of car they would drive, and that's perfect 😂 So enjoy. The only think I did was put MacCready at the top of the list, but I think these are still really funny

Fo4 Companions Driving

MacCready: has a sports car for looks but actually drives like a Sudan or something, "it gets good gas mileage!", lowkey dad mode while driving, " I WILL TURN THIS CAR AROUND RIGHT NOW," "WE GET THERE WHEN WE GET THERE," honks when people don't use their blinker, has random baby clothes and supplies in the trunk

Piper: crazy city driver, will make you fear for your life, windows all the way down, constantly screaming at other drivers and honking liberally, but she will get you to your destination with time to spare

Preston: grandma driver, goes under the speed limit, indecisive, constantly stressed, defensive driver, mutters to himself nervously the whole time, drives a mom van

Nick: probably the most responsible driver, goes the speed limit, will stop anytime he sees a car pulled over to ask if they need help, always has tools in his car, drives an old car that looks like it's constantly running on fumes but hasn't failed him yet, maybe a crown Victoria or something

Cait: drives an old beat up pickup truck that's missing a bumper and has numerous dents and scratches and is held together with ducktape, license plate definitely is customized with some innuendo, drives with her arm hanging out the window like a trucker, has old fashioned crank windows, littered with cigarette butts and fast food trash

Hancock: definitely drives a hot wheel lookin ass car, probably put a rocket engine on it for shits and giggles, airbags all busted from one too many crashes, will road race in a heartbeat, does donuts in semi populated areas to assert dominance, base boosted stereo

Deacon: has like 8 cars in various states of disrepair, his favorite is a low rider, writes jokes on the dirty window shields, has the best playlist, loves convertibles, hot wheel paint job on some of them, back seats covered in piles of clothes (disguises), 18 hoodies in the trunk, "I think this is a short cut!" It was in fact not a shortcut

Curie: drives a cute little car like a VW Bug, has a fruity air freshener, mini squishmallows on the dashboard, has a first aid kit and tissue box in the glove compartment, another first aid kit in the trunk, "coexist" bumper sticker, cute steering wheel and seat covers, let's you have aux

Danse: drives a camo Jeep, patriotic bumper stickers, one is definitely something about the 2nd amendment, keeps at least two guns in the car at all times, autistic about people adjusting the AC and seat positions

X6: drives a black cyber truck, drives in silence like a psychopath, tinted windows, black tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror

Thinking about Deacon Week

I flip back and forth wildly between "don't touch me, I do not like physical contact, no hugs, no handshakes, nada, no touchy touchy" Deacon and "I am going to throw my legs over yours on the couch, poking you in the side, pestering you into smacking him, messing up your hair, arm around your shoulders, clapping you on the back for a job well done" Deacon

Genuinely I cannot decide.

Inside me, there are two Deacons-

It's currently 5:19am when I'm writing this cause I can't sleep due to chemo side effects (queasy stomach, unable to regulate body temperature, steroid meds, pump clicking, etc), and so here's a compilation of my random sleepless thoughts (I'll definitely add to this in the future, also feel free to add your thoughts to any of this)

Do you think regular human on human racism still exists in the Fallout universe or are they so past that when they have ghouls and synths to be racist about? Like would it be a scandle if Deacon changed his whole race as part of a disguise or would everyone go "Yeah that sounds like Deacon." I'm a pasty white southern kid, I have no say in this, someone feel free to educate me

I was playing New Vegas and streaming it over discord to 2 of my friends, and we were going to Boulder City. One of them goes, "It's not just a boulder... " and the game crashed. It could not handle Spongebob

So we see married people in the Fallout universe all the time, we even can play matchmaker and hook up the teacher and robot in Diamond City (which is wild when you think about it given their paranoia with synths... Do you think their opinions would change if Edna wanted a synth body like Curie?), so like, why can't I marry my companions??

The Skyrim logic of "life is short, might as well get married" could very much apply to fallout too. Notably the alternative of "life is short, don't get attached" also makes sense, but people get attached, it's what they do best, especially when you tell them not to. (Skyrim is a little bit more organized though, so do you think they keep records? Do they have like a census? Obviously you can't get married more than once in game even if your spouse dies, so who's keeping track of that in universe?? )

I feel like there should be a 3rd affinity level unlocked with some characters that allows you marry them - friendship, romance, marriage. Maybe it's different with every character. Piper, for instance, I think would be open to marriage, she doesn't have any previous romantic trauma, her main relationship dynamic is between her and her little sister, so as long as Nat approves, I think she'd be open to marriage. Someone who's lost a partner before might be a little bit more difficult to convince like MacCready, though his romance lines are pretty devoted, so I think he could be convinced ("I plan on walking this earth with you until the day I die" okay then marry me???). Someone like Deacon on the other hand, even ignoring the fact that you can't really romance him in game, I don't think would ever let himself be tied down like that given his history. (I'll probably write all my marriage head canons out another day cause that sounds fun.)

Deacon: "Still killing people for caps MacCready?" MacCready: "I don't know, still trying to be anyone but yourself?" - Some people point to this interaction as proof of the "Deacon is the lone wanderer" theory, but realistically, if Deacon really was the LW, and has gone through all the trouble of hiding it, I don't think he'd let MacCready know. Like there's no way. He'd avoid him like the plague or immediately disappear if he had even an inkling that MacCready recognized him. I think MacCready is just commenting on his reputation like Deacon is commenting on his.

When I first started playing Fallout 4, I had minimal knowledge of the world as a whole, so when I started hearing people mention the railroad, and run across a railroad on my way to an important quest, I had my nose down in the dirt looking for clues and got jumped by ferals more than once. Only later did I realize it was basically a reference to the Underground Railroad. My 7th grade self would have been so disappointed in me lmao. Also why do ferals always hang around the railroads? Anyone got any theories on that?

Desdemona from the Railroad shares a voice actress with Aela the Huntress from the Companions in Skyrim. Same voice also as Lieutenant Helga something something from Disney's Atlantis. Now between Skyrim's "Helgen" and Aela's voice in "Helga, " you'd think I'd be able to remember her name is Helga, but I never do. I always call her "the Lieutenant lady." (Also, Atlantis is such an underrated movie?? I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat, especially if you like fast, funny dialogue quips, this movie is a master class in it.)

I watched Atlantis earlier today cause I couldn't watch the fallout tv show in front on my mom cause she'd have an anuerysm. Atlantis is in my list or movies that qualify as "tangentially fallout" thanks to voice actors, and I was comparing the movie to Studio Ghibli's Castle In The Sky, since they both have "lost civilization that uses magical blue crystals as a power source™" and I love stories that reference other mythogies describing their lost civilizations. As I was telling my mom, it was at that scene in Atlantis where Milo is talking about the Leviathan described in the Bible in the book of Job, and my mom goes "Oh that's trippy, I was just reading Job." And at first I was like haha cool, but then I realized that she's definitely coping with all the shitty things happening to our family lately and it made me very sad :( (An extremely paraphrased version of Job is that the devil goes to God and says "he only likes you cause you give him everything he wants" and God says "Bet" and so the devil takes everything from him, his health, his wealth, his kids, everything but his wife who tells him to curse God and die (lovely wife, I see why the devil left her 💀), and Job goes "No I don't think I will" and God restores everything to him tenfold or something. And then God kicks Satan in the nuts or something probably just for effect.)

My favorite type of fallout fanfic to write is not my favorite type to read and it sucks cause I really can't write what I like to read cause I don't have to knowledge or creativity to do so. I'm good at writing dialogue and that's about it. Especially when it comes to kinks, my favorite kinks to read about are so hard to write. I got lucky recently and got a string of like 5 on Ao3 and I was thriving.

I really wish I liked Danse more but autistic military man is too close to my ex. His hair/eyebrows/beard combo is also nearly identical except that my ex was brunette.

Deacon is the epitome of an ENTP, so strongly that I clocked it before looking it up to see that people agree. He's basically 707 from Mystic Messenger - "haha I'm so funny and cool, sunglasses emoji, memes, oh but actually deep down I'm very depressed and you should stay away from me because I'm dangerous and anyone I let get too close gets hurt." A concerning amount of my favorite characters are ENTPs. My boyfriend is also an ENTP. Do I have some kind of complex?

Popping back to religion for a second, it always cracks me up with movies when I see it tagged as "biblical violence" like I think Prince of Egypt has that as a content warning. Like yes it's violence, but it's violence your kids are probably already familiar with if you're religious. Where is the line drawn? Can I tag fallout New Vegas or tv show as "biblical violence" since they crucify people?

I also was chatting with my friend about this, it's funny how in the tv show, the legion uses telephone poles as crosses cause it actually makes so much sense. But why do they tie people to crosses instead of nailing? You think that bit of history got lost in translation ? Or it is just a conservation of metal thing? Like why waste metal of someone already caught vs metal for bullets to kill our enemies? Idk they def could use railway rifles if they had any

Been thinking about where all the companions end up after the end of the main quest lines. For Claire, here's my headcanons:

-Piper and Nat have a house in Sanctuary. Piper still runs Publick Occurrences, but now without the added stress of possibly getting stuck outside of Diamond City.

-Nick Valentine eventually goes back to his office in Diamond City. He intends to return to detective work, but he ends up getting stuck in a position of authority after Mayor McDonough is killed. He agrees under the condition that it's a temporary placement, and that they'll look for someone to take the role permanently, but most people are content with him in charge. He's stuck there for the foreseeable future.

-Preston travels back and forth between Sanctuary and the Castle. He shares a house in Sanctuary with Mama Murphy since he cares for her like a grandma.

-Hancock goes back to Goodneighbor but has a dedicated room in the Sanctuary Inn for whenever he visits which is fairly regularly. It's always a party when he does.

-Deacon comes and goes from Sanctuary as he pleases. He insists he doesn't need a dedicated place to crash even though Claire offered. Sanctuary becomes a safe haven for synths who are being moved, so he and other Railroad agents come through occasionally often while escorting folks.

-Cait lives at Nordhagen Beach. She works as a caravan guard sometimes, but also loves living by the sea. When home, she trains the settlers in self defense on her off time.

-Curie has a house in Sanctuary next to the hospital. She works as the resident doctor and scientist. When Danse becomes an enemy of the BoS, he moves in with her. She's there to counsel and help him as needed and make sure he's safe. He helps her with some medical stuff in return. Otherwise, he works as a mechanic, doing maintenance on weapons and power armor, and learning electronics. Eventually, Curie gets antsy to go explore the world more and hires Danse as protection, and the two of them go on many a research expedition together.

-Codsworth stays in Sanctuary and does general maintenance around town as well as assisting in the general store. He's dedicated to keeping the town neat and tidy and making sure guests feel welcome.

-MacCready moves in with Claire in her original prewar house. Duncan and Shaun share a room.

-Dogmeat lives a happy pampered life in Sanctuary, though he does occasionally accompany Preston on his trips to the castle or Curie and Danse on their research trips.

Because Duncan has actually already recovered by the time it gets there but MacCready hasn't received word about it for one reason or another

When they're reunited and the caretakers are like "Oh yeah, he's fine, he's been fine for a while" and MacCready is just so comically mad because wdym he did MedTek and all that for no reason
