Kanima’s Mate Pt. 2
Summary: Reader cures Jackson and gains a new pack member.

I didn’t tell Derek about my plan or the fact that I had a bestiary and knew who the Kanima was. I snuck out of the subway when everyone was asleep, or so I thought.
“Where are you going?” I turn to find a sleepy Isaac rubbing his eyes. He looks so adorable.
“I’m uhm going out.” I turn attempting to leave again. “I’ll come with you.”
“NO! Uh, I mean you look like you need your rest so you should probably stay and you know, sleep.”
“Nonsense. I’ll go with you.” He put his shoes on and started walking out. I sighed and followed him at a slower pace.
“Why were you sneaking out?” Isaac slowed down so he was next to me.
“There’s no way I’ll be able to keep this from you is there?” “None.”
I sigh heavily. “I know who the Kanima is and I may be able to cure them.” I look over to Isaac only to notice he’s not beside me anymore. I look back and find him staring at me in shock. I walk back to him. “You okay there bud?”
He focuses his gaze back on me. “How long have you known?”
I look away from him and start walking again, he follows this time. “A couple a weeks now.”
“Why didn’t you tell anyone?” “Cause if I told Derek he would want to kill him and I don’t want him dead.”
“Do I know him?” He looks to me.
I give a small laugh. “Oh you know him alright. Both packs do actually.”
He looks lost in thought for a moment. “Is it Jackson?”
I snap my head in his direction. “How did you know?”
He looks around and then back to me. “Cause we’re standing in front of his house.” I look around and we are in fact in front of his house.
“Right.” “So, how do we cure him?”
I take the bestiary out along with my dark light. “Well there’s a part in here about Kanima’s and I couldn’t find anything until I remembered my mom telling about hidden messages so I shined my dark light at it and there it was.” I shine the light on the page and the message show’s.
There are two ways to cure a Kanima.
One of them being resolving their inner turmoil.
The other, although rare, is for the Kanima’s mate to give them the mate mark.
I turn the light out and put the book away. I look at Isaac awaiting his reaction. “Tell me you're here to help him with his inner problems.”
“I can’t tell you that Isaac.” He nods in understanding.
“You know he’s not here right?” I look at him with furrowed brows. “I can help you find him.”
“Thanks Isaac. You’re the best.” He leads me to an abandoned warehouse.
“What are we doing here?” I ask him in confusion.
“Derek texted and wanted us to meet him here.” Isaac was about to go in but I pulled him back. I smell the air looking for anything out of the ordinary.
“Scott, the Argent’s, Derek and…” I go silent. “Jackson.” I let go of Isaac and run inside with him hot on my heels. I nod at him before we shift and split up. I look for Jackson and see him fighting with Derek. I let out a loud menacing growl before going to them. I pull Derek apart and throw him against a wall. I turn and look at the Jackson. He looks at me before he runs to attack someone else.
I look for Isaac next and see the young Argent attacking him. I run to him and punch Allison in the gut. She keels over and looks up at me. She comes at me but I dodge every attack. In the end I throw her to the floor when I hear Derek’s struggle.
I turn and see Scott holding him against old guy Argent’s arm. I stand in shock but it doesn’t last long and I run over to them only to be stopped my Isaac. I look at him but he shakes his head.
The bit didn’t take. Apparently the pup put Mountain Ash in his meds. I feel someone’s eyes on me and look around for the person. Before I can find them I get distracted by the Kanima being hit by a Jeep.
I run over to him and he jumps back up. He gets ready to attack but looks at me and relaxes his stance the slightest bit. I see the redhead getting close. “Isaac keep her back.” She tries to struggle against her to no avail.
I walk up to Jackson, looking him in the eye the entire time. Once I’m close enough I grab his hand and intertwine it with my own. He tilts his head and looks at our joined hands. He looks back at me curiously. My other hand raises to the right side of his face. I whisper “Alterum”(mate in latin) and he tilts his head to the right. Exposing the left side. I let my fangs out and bit him just between his shoulder and collarbone.
I pull back to see Jackson in his beta shift. Slowly he starts turning back to himself. That’s when Derek shoves me aside and he claws Jackson in his abdomen and some guy does the same to his back.
I scream at what they’ve done. They let him go and I shift before attacking them both. Isaac joins the fight but only to hold me back. I struggle against his hold but then give up. Letting my tears flow.
“He was cured! You didn’t have to kill him!!” I yell at them. Isaac let’s me go and move towards Jackson. “The mate mark cured him. He was fine.” I say in a broken voice.
I hold Jackson to me and everyone stays silent just watching the scene before them. The redhead tries to come close but I let out a feral growl warning her to stay away, which she doesn’t, she takes a step closer and I allow my eyes to show before growling and snapping towards her. She stops and stands still. I start to stand when and I’m almost close to her before I feel a tug in my mind. Soon after a roar is heard. I turn and look at Jackson. Very much alive. A smile breaks out on my face and I run to him and give him a bear hug.
When I pull back he looks at me for a while before saying something I didn’t expect. “In saecula saeculorum”(always and forever in latin) I hug him again before realising he’s completely naked. I lightly growl before asking someone for a blanket or jacket or something.
Stiles come back with a blanket from his jeep. “Thanks” I say before wrapping it around him. We stand up and she comes up to Jackson. I growl a little before letting her near him. I see Isaac talking with Derek but I don’t listen in, I was raised with manners.
The guy from earlier walks up to me. “Do I know you?” He asks looking me up and down.
“You knew my mother. I look just like her which is why I look familiar to you.”
“Who’s your mother?” He asks with curiosity in his familiar blue eyes.
“M/N Jackson. She was Alpha to our pack before they were slaughtered by hunters.” A look of recognition crosses his face.
“You are a spitting image of her. Well except for the eyes. If I recall correctly her eyes were M/E/C. Your’s on the other hand are blue.” He tilts his head slightly.
Before I have a chance to answer Isaac comes over. He shift on his feet before looking at me. “Alpha Jackson would like to request your acceptance in joining your pack.” I look at him with wide eyes. Jackson walked over to see what was going on. He looked between Isaac and I, he wrapped his hand around my waist and snap out of my daze.
“I accept you as part of my pack Isaac Lahey.” A smile spreads across his face and he pulls me into a hug. I take the chance to give him the pack bite. He pulls back when Jackson growls.
Time Skip
I ended up at Jackson’s house, with Isaac. Jackson didn’t like it much but Isaac wanted to stay around me so we had our little puppy pile. I was snuggles between the two.
“If you so much as touch her I will make sure you die a painful death.” Jackson warns as he wraps he arms around me.
“And if you so much as break her heart I’ll make sure you die a painfully slow death.” Isaac retorts.
“If you two don’t stop with the insults I’ll throw you both outside and let you fend for yourself.” They stopped talking but they softly growled instead. I rolled my eyes and pulled Isaac a bit closer.
They may not like each other but they both agree that I should be protected.
They’ll have their differences and insult each other at every given time but if someone insults one the other makes sure it never happens again.
They’re pack. They’re family. They’ll always have each other’s back.
