Kimi ni Todoke makes me happy.
me, drowning in feels.
Dear Karasu-sama, what do you think about what is happening in the Chihayafuru tag right now? Personally I am upset more then ever. Honestly I am not even a Taichihaya supporter and I don't like Taichi all that much, but still I can't help to feel digusted seeing what's going on there.
Hello there, anon-chan. ( gosh, you really called me sama? I don’t deserve it! o//////o )
Ah, yes… the tag. It is going to be a rather longish rant here, so feel free to scroll past it if you’re not interested in personal opinions of any kind. I’ll put the “read more” later.
The tag - It’s been bothering me for a while now. I heard that the arguments on the mangafox forum are far worse, but, honestly, I never expected them to reach tumblr.
And no honey, you’re not the only one who is disgusted by what is happening in the tag. (Though in my case it is disgust mixed with disappointment.) Some people are plain rude. There is no better way to describe it. I remember, not so long ago, it used to be completely different? People were helping out one another if there was a need, sharing their thoughts on what was happening in the manga and I can’t recall any bigger argument bettween fans even if their opinions were drastically different. Man, I was so proud to be a part of this community! Was…
This tag (and also fandom) used to be so soothing and mature at the same time, but today even I ask myself a question if I really want to check for new posts and updates and it’s surprising how often the answer is “no”. It never happened before, but what’s going on now in the fandom makes me want to drop not only the tag but also the series altogether. It’s somewhat tragic for me because Chihaya furu was very, very important in my life.
I don’t really care who ships what, because we all have the right so sail whatever ship we want, supprot whoever we want, be it Taichi or Arata, but it absolutely does not give anyone the right to insult other people simply because they don’t share our point of view.
If I had to pick between Taichi or Arata, I’d pick Taichi. I have my reasons, obviously. (Though it is so damn hard to pick between those two babies, I just can't control the feels) But that doesn’t mean I hate people who are supporting Arata and that doesn’t mean that were no moments when I thought “Taichi you little prick, damned asshole, fuck you.” Cause babe there was a lot of them. There is a lot of moments I wish he acted differently, like explaining to his team what are all the reasons he decided to leave, or not actually kissing Chihaya, but it's up to Suetsugu-sensei how she writes the story. I am realistic when it comes to the charactes I can see their flaws and all the rest. It helps to appreciate the whole creation that the mangaka tried to present. Imagine that two of my closest friends are supporting Arata x Chihaya (hardcore Arata fans tbh), and guess what? We’re still friends. No one said anything bad against one another because of what was going on in the manga. Having different opinions and discussing them is, at least for me, the very foundation of each fandom, but I can’t say the same about shipping wars.
(To be completely honest I’d rather ship Chihaya with Shinobu or with Sudo than with any of the boys. Simply because I like the dynamics more. But don’t forget that this story is not all about the romance. It is about Karuta, it is about friendship about working your way towards a bigger goal. Those are the things that should play the main part here, things that are important. I’d rather see now Chihaya playing for the queen title than getting into a romantic relationship of any kind. Becuase she’s gonna do it soon, right? As narrative suggests.)
People it doesn’t take much to maintain the friendly atmosphere, or if not friendly then at least healthy. It doesn’t take much to tag spoilers, tag ‘hate’ or black list tags that you really can’t stand to see.
And I can’t agree with people saying that it’s all the taichihaya fans fault. Both sides are to blame and both sides know it. I think it all comes in waves though and sometimes one side is more annoying sometimes it’s the other, but, all in all, both parites are at fault. I am talking for the fandom in general. People can do / say disgusting things, trying to hide behind the excuse ‘people being disgusting because they like Taichi’ or ‘people being assholes because they don’t like Taichi’ (it’s all about him recently, isn’t it?) but it DOES NOT give you, me or anyone else the right to insult someone or make that person feel bad because of what he / she ship, like or support. (wow, I said it twice already, huh?)Yes, I know there was a huuuuuge spam of the “Taichi’s confession” scene, recently. And yes, I was annoyed by it too, but you need to take into consideration that there are people who only just read that chapter, wanted to share their thoughts, emotions and so on.
To sum up this freaking rant. I am greatly disappointed, again. Some people are acting cruel, unfair and really, really childlish. Fandom is about the group not about the unit, and people should be a bit more selfless and undestanding when dealing with the rest of the community.
I think the situation will last at least till the next chapter is up (or maybe even much, much longer) because some of the users seem to have way too much fun provoking others. Unfortunately. Browsing this tag is not a pleasant experience anymore. Despite all of the efforts of members such as : @ohliviablackthorn, impassionategods selva3bd and so on and on. Anyways, thank you for your question, dear anon-chan. I hope my reply didn't scared you and that you're somewhat satisfied with it.
All I think after going through the tag is "damn people need to chill out." I don't really get why some of the users got so aggresive over this chapter and over other people having their own opinions. It's so upsetting to see how this, sort of a, shipping war is tearing the fandom apart. (And I always thought that Chihayafuru fandom was a bit mature when it comes to this aspect.) Sometimes I wish there was no romantic side to Chihayafuru, because people in their shipping googles seem to forget that there is so much more to this story. ⊙_⊙ I don't think it's too much to ask people to respect each other and eachothers opinions. At least on tumblr...
Seeing arts of Himuro in the zone makes me laugh and cry at the same time.
I am always so disappointed seeing reposts of arts and edits going around on tumblr.. and people who are rebloging them, even though there is an artist's watermark on the graphic which clearly states that it was made by someone else... Not to even mention all those things taken from pixiv without notifying the artist (especially when he or she does not allow redestribution in the first place.) It's just so sad.
I can’t believe that I am actually looking forward to the newest KNB chapter. I am crying tears of joy for once. I really wonder what will happen now and how Fujimaki will bring the series down even more. Pretty exciting.
sanadababe thank for the notice. You made my day.
Q265 wrecked me.
