The Ritual.
Kari set the brass bowl down in the center of the black altar. She tossed in the herb bundle and chicken bones followed by the rune stones. Each crystal carved with a rune was dropped into the bowl where they tinged against the bottom of the bowl.
Armed with chalk in hand, Kari started the next step. She carefully drew the summoning rune on the hard stone floor. How many times had she done this? Thirty? Fifty? Her hand waved across the surface with practiced ease as she finished this step.
“Fa ta lue, Sand tagra con ishla rue domin ra.” Kari chanted out and drug her ritual blade across her palm. She squeezed her hand over the bowl, bleeding those precious crimson drops.
With the final step, she grabbed a pinch of firesand and threw it into the bowl. First came the sparks then suddenly the bowl burst into flames of unnatural glow.
The air suddenly grew thick, and there was a subtle rumble within the room, just enough to clatter glass and shake the alter. The disruption had only lasted a moment before a giant cloaked figure appeared in the corner of the room. A low and deep cackle escaped the newfound being.
Slowly he had begun to speak. There was power in his voice as he spoke. “Who has brought me…” he paused and scanned the room for a moment, before setting bright red eyes onto Kari. “...here?” He stood silently as he grinned wickedly behind his shadow hidden face, his eyes burned into her as he waited.

30 days of uncommon character questions. Day 1.
What position does your character sleep in?
Kari does not sleep well. She hasn’t for a very long time. With the introduction of her fiance and having a regular partner to share a bed with, her sleeping habits have changed.
She still does not sleep much, but now she sleeps soundly. Kari has an old habit of not feeling safe. Especially while she is sleeping. Having Sal in bed with her gives her a sense of peace of mind, even if she is not entirely aware of why she sleeps better now that they live together.
As for position, more often than not, Kari falls asleep with her head on Sal’s chest, and an arm draped over him. She tosses and turns through the night, changing positions frequently but 9/10 she falls asleep with her head on his chest. Going so far as to wake him up so she can take up her place there.
30 Days of Uncommon Character Questions. Day 4.
Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?
Kari has a few speech patterns. Not really tics, but the trends are linked to behavior. When she is frustrated, or angry, she will curse heavily. If she is furious, upset, or hurt. She will clam up and be silent. If she is excited, or trying to explain something she is passionate about she will ramble. She will harp and repeat herself frequently because she wants whoever she is telling to feel the same passion she does in whatever it is she is trying to explain.

Kari face claim, Salma Hayek
Kari's face claim, Salma Hayek.
Inked.
Tattoo was placed on Kari’s wrist on the inside. No larger than a coin, it was placed over her pulse. Kari asked her sister Mac, @inked-wolf for the tattoo. It is a reminder of her fiance. The blue butterfly has a long history between the two. The musical notes in the wings are for Sal’s musical ability in guitar playing.
The second tattoo was a surprise. Kari has had a tattoo for awhile that was given to her by another artist. It was a triangle with the orange center placed between and just below her breasts. Mac Designed the other parts for Kari. The original tattoo was supposed to symbolize Kari. Thick black walls caging the fire and chaos inside her. This was suitable for Kari at the time of her first inking.
Mac’s re-imagining of her art is more suitable to who Kari is as a person. The outer circle is a ritual circle with runes that represent order and chaos. A core trait of Kari’s character, the balance of chaos and order. The second are the inner square and circle inside the triangle. This is an old alchemy symbol that is basically means attempt the impossible. Which is something Kari as been brave enough to do. Try try for a life she thought impossible.
A huge thank you to Mac, @inked-wolf and @theinkedwolfooc for designing the art for me and for the rp in getting them placed. I love them both so much and couldn’t think of anything better suited for Kari.
I’m so honored that I got to be your first RP in tattooing and able to help fill out the background for your character since it’s been in her history that she is a tattoo artist. I highly recommend seeking Mac out at her bar she runs in Boralus. The Shattered Glass, proxy The Curious Octopus. Mac is an amazing person IC and OOC and so glad to have her as an RP partner, friend and Sister. <3
