தென்மேற்கு பருவ மழை காரணமாக நேற்று (ஜூலை 13)  105 அடியாக இருந்த மேட்டூர் அணையின் நீர்மட்டம் இன்று (ஜூலை 14) 110 அடியை தாண்டியுள்ளது.

மன்னார் வளைகுடா பகுதிகளில் கடல் சீற்றம் காரணமாக ராமேஷ்வரம் விசைப்படகு மீனவர்கள் இன்று கடலுக்கு செல்லவில்லை.

மீண்டும் 100 அடியை எட்டியது மேட்டூர் அணையின் நீர்மட்டம்! - தினவாசல்

மேட்டூர் அணையின் வரலாற்றில், 68-வது ஆண்டாக நான்கு நாள்களுக்கு பிறகு, இன்று அதிகாலை மேட்டூர் அணை நீர்மட்டம் மீண்டும் 100 அடியாக உயர்ந்தது.

This another wonderful works of Mysuru Maharaja's family to people of Karnataka.This dam is higher than KRS dam of Mysuru. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ The dam was built by the Mysuru Maharajas pre-independence across the river Vedavathi. The dam is an exquisite piece of architecture, an engineering marvel for that time, and provides water to lots of surrounding cities, towns and villages. 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 The dam was initiated by the regent queen who was a widow of Maharaja Chamaraaja Wodeyar. 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 She is known for her social works which were exemplary.
