Due to being really emotional, she often involuntarily goes into cold-aggresive mode when someone hurts her feelings. Hurting people back by pretending she doesn't care is her defense mechanism.

As someone who's biggest ambition in life is to be a good person, this is an enormous insecurity of hers and due to that she constantly doubts her self-worth.

Not to mention, she has a tendency to overthink, which causes her to reminisce about that one time she hurt Julian's feelings, for example, and instill in her mind that he must hate her. It would've worked for sure if not for the fact they are married.//
