We Don’t Have To Fake It Anymore

Pairing - Katelyn~Chan

Warnings - None!

Prompt - Fake dating au. Kawaii~Chan needs to fool her family into thinking she’s taken, and luckily, her best friend is there to help her.

Kawaii~Chan slammed her phone down on the table after hanging up on her mother. She couldn’t help but let out a low grumble, he family knew just how to make her angry, and commenting on the fact that she was still single, was one of them.

Katelyn came down the stairs, closing her book and scratching her head, “What’s up KC? I heard you grumbling, and I assumed the worst.”

Kawaii~Chan’s eyes lit up at the sight of Katelyn, a plan already forming in her mind. “Katelyn~Sama, Kawaii~Chan is having some,” she paused, deciding on how to phrase her next few sentences, “family troubles.”

Katelyn walked over and sat down next to her on the couch, placing her book down and facing the meif’wa, giving her all of her attention, “Anything I can do to help?”

Kawaii~Chan’s heart couldn’t help but flutter, Katelyn was just so selfless, and always wanted to help Kawaii~Chan in any way she could. “Actually,” Kawaii~Chan started, giving Katelyn the sweetest look she could muster, “Katelyn~Sama can help Kawaii~Chan. You see, Kawaii~Chan’s parents keep pestering her about how Kawaii~Chan is still single,” She started, looking at Katelyn.

Katelyn nodded in understanding, her face had a look of deep concentration on it. “Go on,” Katelyn said, giving the smaller woman a comforting smile.

“Well, Kawaii~Chan thought that Katelyn~Sama could pretend to date Kawaii~Chan? Only if you are comfortable with it!” Kawaii~Chan said, going on one of her rambles. Katelyn just laughed and grabbed KC’s shoulders, making her face her. 

“I would love to help you Kawaii~Chan, and it’s only just some pretend dating, what harm could it do?” Kawaii~Chan let out an audible sigh of relief, he muscles growing less tense with every second that passed.

“Kawaii~Chan can’t thank Katelyn~Sama enough!” She said, jumping into Katelyn’s arms and engulfing her in a hug. Katelyn smiled into her neck before gently pushing the meif’wa back into a sitting position. “So what am I going to have to do?”

“Well,” Kawaii~Chan spoke cheerily, biting her lip, “Once Kawaii~Chan tells her family about you, they’re going to want to meet you, so you’ll have to go to a dinner with Kawaii~Chan and her family, then after a little bit of ‘dating’“ Kawaii~Chan added the quotations with her fingers to make sure Katelyn understood what she was trying to say, “Kawaii~Chan can just tell her family we decided to just be friends! It’s fool proof!”

Katelyn smiled brightly at her soon to be ‘girlfriend’. She was just too adorable when she got all excited like this. The way her eyes lit up and her movements quickened, Katelyn couldn’t help but feel happy whenever Kawaii~Chan smiled.

Kawaii~Chan sat up abruptly, grabbing her phone off of the table and running to the stairs. She stopped a few steps up and turned and called back to Katelyn, “Kawaii~Chan is going to call her parents and tell them the good news!” She cheered, continuing her ascent up the stairs.

“Alright KC, just tell me when we’re gonna have to meet them, I do want to make a good impression,” Katelyn said, winking at her. Kawaii~Chan’s cheeks flushed bright red, before she turned and climbed the last few steps, disappearing into her room.

Katelyn sighed, chuckling to herself. 

“She is too adorable.”

Katelyn smoothed out her blouse, checking her hair and makeup out in her phone camera. She groaned, powering off her phone, “Are you sure I look okay KC? I don’t wanna make the wrong impression.”

Kawaii~Chan only giggled and grabbed Katelyn’s hand, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek, “Kawaii~Chan thinks you look beautiful Katelyn~Sama! Kawaii~Chan is sure her family will love you!”

“I can only hope so,”Katelyn said, a light blush dusting her cheeks.

Seconds later, the front door opened and an older version of Kawaii~Chan opened it, pulling the actual Kawaii~Chan into a monster hug.

“Nana! You made it!” The woman said, releasing her daughter.

“Kawaii~Chan has told you a thousand times, she wants to be called Kawaii~Chan!” She said, huffing a little.

“Sorry Kawaii~Chan, I’ll make sure to do so! But is this Katelyn?” She stepped in front of Katelyn, getting a closer look at her face. “She definetly looks like a keeper!” She said, clasping her hands together, “And you two look so cute together! I’m just so happy my little girl finally found herself a girlfriend.”

“Mom,” Kawaii~Chan groaned, dragging out the ‘o’. “You’re embarrassing Kawaii~Chan!”

All her mother did was laugh and step inside, motioning for them to come inside, “That’s my job dear. Now why don’t you two come in, you must be freezing, standing outside in the wind for all that time.”

Katelyn thanked her as she walked inside, taking her jacket off and hanging it on the coat rack, Kawaii~Chan doing the same. Katelyn took one look at the room and almost passed out. There were 13 people, all almost exactly identical to Kawaii~Chan. Some of them looked up and gave her a small wave or a ‘hello’, but some didn’t acknowledge her at all.

Katelyn took a seat next to Kawaii~Chan on a couch, and made casual small talk with her family. After about 10 minutes she figured out that they each had their own ‘thing. Her youngest sibling is a dancer, one of her brothers is an artist, one of her sisters is great with technology, and so on. Kawaii~Chan’s dad was rather interesting as well. He liked the same sports that Katelyn did, and was surprised to hear that she played the sports instead of watching them.

Kawaii~Chan’s mom came into the living room and announced that it was time for dinner, everyone stood up and made their way to the dinning room, Katelyn never letting go of Kawaii~Chan’s hand.

They all took their seat, and they picked up their conversation’s from the living room. Most of Kawaii~Chan’s siblings talked amongst themselves, sometimes joining in on the conversation Katelyn, Kawaii~Chan and her parents were having. It was standard questions, ‘What’s your job?’ ‘How did you meet?’ and all that. Luckily they had agreed to just say how they actually met in high school, and decided to give dating a shot recently.

Throughout the entire dinner, Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan never let go of each other’s hand. And when they absolutely had to, they made sure their legs or feet were touching. The entire time Katelyn could see a faint smile and blush on Kawaii~Chan’s already smiling face. But Katelyn could tell, there was something more.

By the time the dinner had ended, most of Kawaii~Chan’s siblings had left to do their own thing, whatever that may be. Kawaii~Chan stood up and smiled at her parents, pulling Katelyn up so she stood next to her, “Well, Kawaii~Chan thinks that her and Katelyn~Sama should get going now.”

Her parents stood as well and walked with them to the front door, saying their goodbyes as they put on their coats.

“I do hope you can come again,” Kawaii~Chan’s mother said, giving Katelyn a quick hug. “You are a wonderful young lady.” Her father smiled at her, shaking her hand, “I agree, you were a pleasure to meet.”

Katelyn smiled and said, “Thank you so much for the dinner, I had a lovely evening. But it is getting late and me and Kawaii~Chan really should get going.”

Kawaii~Chan said her goodbye’s to her parents, and then they were out the door, walking down the street. Her parents lived around a 20 minute walk from their own, so they decided to just walk home instead of taking a bus or taxi.

“So,” Kawaii~Chan started, grabbing Katelyn’s hand and looking at her feet, her pinks rosy from either the cold or embarrassment, “What did you think of Kawaii~Chan’s family?”

Katelyn smiled, “I think they were lovely, your siblings all seemed very nice.”

Kawaii~Chan looked at her feet, letting out a small sigh. “They all are very special. They each have their own talent.”

“True,” Katelyn spoke, smirking at the shorter woman, “But you’re obviously the best one out of them all. You’re special in your own, Kawaii~Chan way,” She said, kissing her cheek.

Kawaii~Chan stopped walking and smirked up at Katelyn. “You missed.” She said, trying not to laugh.

“What?” Katelyn asked, confused.

“You missed,” Kawaii~Chan said, before connecting their lips, the wind blowing around them. 

They broke apart and Katelyn looked at her lovingly, only saying one thing, “I guess we don’t have to fake it anymore.”

Did Somebody Say Destiny?

They had been planning this road trip for weeks. Nothing was stopping them now. It was the perfect plan. Bring her out to the country (One of her favourite scenes mind you) and ask her. Kawaii~Chan was nervous, but she had decided that she had been waiting long enough. This crush started in high school. Kawaii~Chan thought it would go away after a few days, maybe weeks, but no. 15 years later and it’s still there.

Kawaii~Chan got into the passenger seat while Katelyn got into the drivers seat. Kawaii~Chan was literally bouncing with excitement.

Katelyn chuckled, “Calm down KC. We haven’t even started driving yet, it’s gonna be a long ride until our first stop.”

“Oh, Kawaii~Chan knows, she is just so excited to finally be going on this trip with Katelyn~Sama!” She said with her usual excited voice. Katelyn’s only reply was her chuckle. The chuckle that made Kawaii~Chan’s heart beat just a bit faster.

Katelyn started the car, and turned on the radio. A song that they both loved and knew by heart came on, and they sang their hearts out. Once the song ended, they both burst into a fit of laughter, smiling widely. They sang with the music as they drove past different scenes, Kawaii~Chan pointing out anything she found interesting or exciting, and Katelyn slowing down so she could see. It truly was one of the best days of her life, and the trip wasn’t even started yet.

They had been driving for around 5 hours and now it was around 4:00 pm. Kawaii~Chan saw where they were planning on stopping first. It was a field that led to a forest, and you could follow a path through the forest to a platform on the edge of a cliff. Everyone says the view is amazing. Kawaii~Chan knew that anywhere Katelyn was, the view was amazing no matter what.

“Come on Kawaii~Chan! I wanna see the view! It’s supposed to be amazing!” Katelyn said, running out of the car parked next to the field. Kawaii~Chan smiled and stepped out of the car, grabbing Katelyn’s hand and started running through the field and into the forest. They walked along the path, Katelyn pointing out certain plants to Kawaii~Chan, and Kawaii~Chan picking flowers and made flower crowns for both herself and Katelyn.

When they finally reached the platform Katelyn ran right to the edge and looked at the view, eyes wide. Katelyn gasped.

“It’s amazing,” She whispered. Kawaii~Chan walked to her side, and gasped as well. It was like she could see the entire world. There were forest’s and fields of flowers. Kawaii~Chan took a deep breath then turned to Katelyn.

“Katelyn~Sama, I want to ask you something.”

“Sure KC, what’s up?” Katelyn turned to look at the shorter woman, a wide smile on her face.

“Kawaii~Chan wants to know if Katelyn~Sama would... go on a date with Kawaii~Chan?” Kawaii~Chan said shyly, twirling a piece of hair around her finger.

She felt Katelyn pull Kawaii~Chan closer and then she felt a pair of lips on hers. Kawaii~Chan immediately kissed back. They broke apart, breathless.

Katelyn laughed a bit, “I’m not sure what took my breath away more, this view or your face?”

Kawaii~Chan blushed, then looked up at Katelyn.

“I guess this road trip was destiny”

Katelyn gave the meif’wa another quick kiss and whispered, 

“Did somebody say destiny?”
