I'm sick of Hak's haters.

First thing: he is helping the Earth Tribe for free.

He had to lie about the senjuso in order to protect Yun and, indirectly, even Yona. It's not even for Soo-won's sake that he did it.

Yun and Hak are on a mission. They were granted the chance to leave the castle on condition that they bring back the medical herb and they can't explain it because the King's illness is a secret which can cost everyone's life.

They can't do whatever they want like before because Yona made a deal with Keyshuk and I think he could take the chance to imprison Hak again if they don't accomplish the task, even though the situation changed and they were involved in the chaos.

Hak would never deny help to Guntae or whoever, unless in doing so he could end up causing harm to someone dear to him or to the country itself.

He's just doing his best (like he did for the past 213 chapter tbh) and he's doing even more than required.

Just look at all those wounds.

Look at how he immediately lies and takes the blame to help Yun.

Look at him going back to battle even after the soldier's criticisms.

Like Raan said, he is the backbone of the country and nothing will ever make me change my mind on this.

It's so touching and bittersweet...

… that so many people are grieveng or almost grieving about the loss of Hak&Yona&Su-Won friendship… Ogi, Mundok, Ju-Doh… almost all known characters, who saw this friendship “alive”, not just hear about it later, like Lily and Dragon Warriors. Wait, all but Keyshuk! It looks like he is determinated to erise even memory of Su-Won’s possible feels. Well, Ju-Doh wanted to kill Hak… But the reason was to prevent problems raijuu could create. And Ju-Doh didn’t seem to be very happy about perspective of the HakYona dying. Sky general is not going to turn back or to be sorry about his choice, but he is not so happy about how the things turn out. While Keyshuk sometimes is like wishing for this two to vanish. Or maybe NOT wishing this happen even stronger, than everyone else, besides Su-Won himself, and expressing this in a such sarcastic style (hard to believe to me, but this is Kusanagi-sensei, anything can be true). Literally, my first tought, when it occurs me was: “Is Keyshuk jealous or something?”. And now I need to get rid of the headcanon about him secretly trying to win SW friendship, now that place is vacant.

about Yona leading the army...

I'm seeing people arguing about Keyshuk's request but honestly, I didn't find it absurd for her to be asked to "lead" the army and not Hak. Not because I don't want Hak to, but because I think that these are two different concepts. I'll explain.

Firstly, it's not true that Keyshuk doesn't aknowledge Hak's power. On the contrary. It's just that he doesn't trust him enough because of his (manifested) hatred toward Soo-Won and so, as the King's counselor, he's not willing to give Hak too much power, like the control of a whole kindom's army.

Furthermore, from Hak's own admission, we've learned that he has never really led an army in battle. This authomatically means that he is very low in the official list of possible leading generals, despite his recent achievement by which he has proved his power and leadership. It is just the way a kingdom is ruled.

But going on to the real issue, I think that Yona's role is not that of a warlord, riding her horse through the enemy's lines and cutting down foes. She has been asked to "lead the army" in case Soo-won is too sick because the soldiers need a symbol. Someone precious to them and that gives them motivation. THIS is Yona's role. She is the princess of Koka kingdom, she is the kingdom itself in the eyes of the soldiers and the people of the country.

And she holds the greatest power: the DRAGONS (and yes, also the Thunder Beast). Yona being there with the army means that Koka can count on a divine force that would protect and encourage the soldiers as well as intimidate the enemy. All things that a sick, although strong and respected, King can't guarantee anymore.

Considering all that, it seems obvious to me that the dirty work will still fall on the generals who are the executives in a war, those who fight alongside soldiers, those who give the orders and take action. THAT could and should be Hak's role. He is powerful, admired and feared. He alone has the power of a thousand and I think it won't be wasted. Hak will take part in the war and will probably have a big role, just like it has always been up until now.

Hak will be someone to fight WITH.

Yona will be someone to fight FOR.

To conlcude, I think that it won't be Hak OR Yona. It will be BOTH. Together.
