Notes from (yet another) KiriBaku AU that I’ll probably never write-
- they live in a world where it’s separated by status, the highest being kings, then above that there’s some warriors, aka, “protectors”
- for their kingdom, their protector is all might. he’s the #1 dragon fighter, and is known to kill the most dragons and has wiped their existence and saved the kingdom
- AM’s gotten too the age where he’s too old to fight anymore, and he’s looking for successors to train under him and has opened this invite to the entire nation
- people have come in from everywhere to train to be picked in the 6 training under him
- bakugou was told about a great coach and left his home to go and find this trainer, who was best jeanist, a high mage obsessed with proper fighting gear
- bakugou was like. ok this is fucking stupid. but surprisingly, jeanist is a really, really great teacher.
- kirishima heard the news, and travelled a 72 hour journey to find a coach to train under. he eventually came across jeanist. bakugou was mad, this was his training, who’s this guy to come and try to go with his master?? but jeanist, hearing about the travel time, agrees to take him under his wing
-kirishima’s appearance is really different. long, thick hair in braids down the bottom, fire red, red eyes and ridiculously sharp teeth. he doesn’t look like he was from anywhere around there.
-unknowing to jeanist and baku, kirishima’s one of the few remaining dragons, aka, shifters. his actual journey was by flight, and didn’t take nearly as long. but he can’t risk anyone knowing because it threatens his life, so he keeps it a secret
-bakugou saw a dragon flying outside his window at a young age, and wanted to fight it. he’s obsessed with the idea of it. to be like all might, to fight a dragon to the death
-he makes that pretty clear while training, and kirishima’s really damn scared because of this
-bakugou at first, is annoyed and suspicious of kirishima, but with kirishima’s personality, he warms up to him. kirishima’s a perfect sparring partner, he smiles brighter than the sun, bakugou gets attached to him pretty damn easy
-no matter how mean bakugou was to him, kirishima kept on coming back. he was the only person who would. it was hard for bakugou not to fall for him.
-kirishima was always intrigued with baku, he developed feelings pretty easily, but obv he knew it’d never happen. it wasn’t possible.
-soon, keeping it a secret became harder and harder. the thing is, dragons have 3 forms. base human, the one that kirishima was using currently, half-half (human but with dragonoid features), and full dragons. he needs to have time in each form equally.
-and he hasn’t been doing it. he’d been hoping there’d be a time when he could sneak off, and there hadn’t
-it eventually gets to the point where kirishima has to transform, there’s no choice. so when jeanist and bakugou go to sleep, kirishima sneaks away and runs as far as he can, and turns into a dragon
-a couple of hours later, bakugou bolts awake with a bad feeling in his gut, and looks next to him and kirishima’s gone. he freaks out and wakes up jeanist, saying that kirishima’s gone
-they search far and wide and they don’t find kirishima. bakugou’s starting to assume the worst, and is in a panic, before he sees a red dragon, and his eyes widen.
-he puts two and two together. his friend disappeared. he heard a roar. now there’s a dragon
-bakugou and jeanist immediately go to attack it, bakugou doing so with so much /fury/ and /anger/, but the dragon’s not fighting back. it looks...scared, and keeps making noises, as if trying to communicate.
-eventually, bakugou has his sword aimed at the dragon’s heart, preparing to strike when it cries out, and then in front of him, transforms back into kirishima
-then human-form kirishima is underneath bakugou, crying and whispering ‘please don’t kill me, please don’t kill me bakugou i’m sorry,’ his hands still up and protecting his face
-bakugou drops his sword.
-kirishima gets up from underneath him, shivering and still crying, and jeanist tries to comfort him but he gets up and runs away, his last memory of bakugou being almost getting murdered by him
-bakugou’s in complete shock. kirishima’s a dragon. a shifter. a shifter that he almost killed.
-bakugou and jeanist go back to their home, jeanist assuring bakugou that kirishima will come back, that it’ll be ok.
-kirishima doesn’t. and it’s not ok.
