I’m doing this for fun also so I can get comfortable with sharing my writings, I might not do every request that comes in but I’ll try to get to them!
🥩Even if I don’t have the fandom you’re requesting for on the list, I probably know about it! Still request it! :D
🥩 Please make sure to send the preferred genitalia with AFAB/AMAB, it helps my brain from overthinking badly! If it’s not specified then I’ll automatically be vague and not be as detailed as I would usually be, but if you do want it intentionally vague then let me know! <3
🥩Send me NSFW! SFW! Dark fucking themes or the sweetest of sweets! Whatever you desire! I’m into some weird stuff <3

That’s about it, I’ll update this the more I go on and stuff, enjoy your stay! :D
Watched a playthrough of Killer Frequency today, and my goofy brain thought how Henry would be like in a relationship with you. Now, I know that the guy never speaks and we barely know anything about him, but to be honest, that has never stopped anyone! So, I hope you enjoy my HC of our secretive silent slasher :))))
TW: murder, kidnapping, Henry being slightly yandere
General:
He's definitely a real sweetheart and would definitely go out of his way to make you happy, though you'd probably have to make sure he doesn't endanger himself in the process
Will do anything to make you happy, and I mean that quite literally
You could do no wrong in his eyes
Rationalizes, justifies, and defends anything you do, even if your actions hurt him
If you manage to build a strong enough relationship, he would totally betray his mother if her desires conflict with yours
Obviously, he's a man of few words, only talking when it is necessary
Tends to whistle out of habit (because I believe that Marie had to have trained him into the role as The Whistling Man)
Likes taking you with him on strolls through Gallows Creek, don't ask me why it's just a feeling
Doesn't know where (or how) to take you out to dinner, so he just takes you to Ponty's Pizza because he heard, through The Scream, that it had amazing pizza "to die for"
If you're on a date, he'll take you out to places he was taught to be familiar with, such as the Maize Maze and Whistling Point, since all he ever learned was related to avenging his late father
Generally submissive and will attempt to mold himself into the perfect boyfriend for you
However, don't think he's entirely docile
Unless specifically stated to not do so, he will eliminate anyone who interferes with his relationship with you
Basically, he'll do whatever you say, but anything outside of that is free reign for him to do whatever he pleases
During Murder Spree:
Once it begins, he'd try to protect you from his mother's plan by scaring you into leaving Gallows Creek
If there was anyone that bothered you or tried to take you from him, they're most certainly going to die that night, Marie's plan be damned
Will tune into The Scream if you happen to be a caller, to hear your voice and also to know your current status
His feelings will be hurt if you help Forrest and Peggy, but he knows that you're just scared and confused
(Plus, he plans on dealing with his wounded emotions in a very healthy, mature, and normal way by murdering the two)
Should you be closely associated with a target, he will knock you out and hide you somewhere safe until he's able to convince his mother to spare you
You definitely serve as a motivation for him to not get caught by the police
Warnings: fluff, first kiss, Henry and reader reunite, some swearing, murder, death (Henry and Marie go sicko mode on Gallows Creek), some guilt (Henry questions his mother's actions), I feel like I gotta say this but spoilers (mostly for the bad ending of the game), probably some grammatical errors
Word Count: 2576 words
A/N: Hey everybody! Let's break up the puppet master stuff with some x reader thingys. Leading the pack is a sequel to my first Henry x Reader fic Carnival Lights. I wasn't going to write a part two, but someone wanted it, and that got me brainstorming. It's funny, I never thought I'd like Henry so much (well, I like my version of Henry lol). Enjoy!
--------------------
Ever since that night at the carnival, Henry never forgot you. The first chance he got, he tried to call you. He wanted to believe that you gave him a real number, but there was still this sliver in his mind that wouldn't have been surprised at you deceiving him.
Of course, the moment he heard your voice on the other end of the phone, guilt consumed him for thinking such. You were so happy to hear him, eagerly asking how he was doing and asking him what he had seen on his "road trip" with his mother. He told you everything, with the exception of all the "murder stuff".
Despite wanting to make his mother proud, and wanting to see her plan through, he missed you. That longing to see you again grew with every phone call. With every mile driven in-between the two of you.
--------------------
Henry was lying down on the bed in the motel room his mother had rented. While he was originally listening to the TV, now he was just staring up at the ceiling. His mother sat on her own bed, writing in a notebook on her lap and occasionally mumbling something. He brings his wrist up to his face to look at his watch. It was almost time for him to find a phone booth and call you. He always tried to call you at a set time, so he would never miss you.
He sits up and stretches, before walking to where he and his mother's black trench coats hung.
"I'm going out to get some fresh air, mom," he calls while putting on his coat.
"Alright, be careful,," she replies, glancing up from her notebook, briefly.
"I know," he opens the door and exits the room.
Henry wastes no time walking to the phone booth that stood by its lonesome. He pulls his coat tighter around himself when he enters. It was autumn now, and the weather was getting chilly. He reaches into his pocket for some quarters and inserts them into the machine. He always made sure he carried change on his person now.
He then raises the phone to his ear and waits.
"Hello?," you chirp from the other end.
"Hey, Y/N," he smiles at the sound of your voice.
"Oh, Henry! Hi! How are you?" you ask. He can practically feel your cheerful nature radiate through the phone.
"I'm doing alright. How have you been?"
"I'm good. Nothing too big to report. Just hung out with friends a bit," you respond.
"Well, as long as you're doing okay," he thinks for a moment. "I uh...the road trip's been fine. In fact, tomorrow's the last day."
Tomorrow. The big day. The day that Gallows Creek pays. And then after that...well...Henry wasn't too sure. His mother said that they could finally live a normal life, but where? He thought about asking her to move to your hometown, but then he'd probably have to explain why. And if she said "no"....
Fuck it. He was going to see you again, no matter what she decided.
"Oh, did you have fun?" you question.
"Yeah, it's been fine. I just...I really miss you," he sighs.
"I miss you too. Will you...will you ever be in town, again?" your voice drops.
"I want to. Believe me, I do. I'm...I'm gonna see if my mom would think about swinging through, again. You know, after tomorrow," he decides.
"Really?" you light up.
"Yes...really," he nods to himself.
"And...and if she says 'no'?"
"Then I'll figure something out. Look, I'm not gonna stay away from you any longer than I have to, okay?"
"Okay," a small smile spreads across your face.
"Okay," he parrots. "I, uh...I guess I should say goodbye now, huh?"
"Yeah, I guess so," you sigh. "Good night, Henry."
"Good night, Y/N. I...," he stops himself. "I...I'll see you soon. I promise."
"You better," you quip.
You both hesitate, before ending the call. Henry lets out a shaky breath as he puts the phone back. He was really going to do this. He was really going to go through with his promise.
With that, he walks back to his motel room. When he enters, his mother's bed was now littered with pictures of different people. People he had never seen before. As he glances at them, he feels a bit of guilt twist in his gut. Some of the people in the photos had smiles on their faces, looking innocently into the camera. They really did remind him of you.
He just shakes his head and turns his attention back to the TV. He didn't want to think about that. Instead, he thought about how the faster Gallows Creek reaped what they sowed, the faster he could see you again.
--------------------
As night fell on the small town of Gallows Creek, so did a dark, suffocating cloud. Blood stained the streets under the moonlight. While only some who were lucky managed to escape the wrath of Marie and her son, a devastating list of victims piled up.
Then the end came. Henry visited the radio station KFAM, and stared at the silhouette of Forrest Nash. A savior to few, but definitely not to all. He could hear his mother as she slowly cut away at the man that took everything away from her, Teddy Gallows Jr.
Life really was cruel. His mother, young and alone, trying to raise him with what little money she could scrape up. Meanwhile he sat upon his ivory tower getting richer and richer. If he had it his way, he would take a swing at him too. But no, his place was here. His job was to kill the loose end.
Then Peggy came into the picture. He remembered looking at the photo of his aunt, he did feel a bit ill. She had a smile similar to your own. It was bad enough having to listen to her screams as she died, but Forrest made it worse. He begged, he cried, he sobbed. He wanted Henry's mother to stop, and honestly he did too.
When he had enough, he burst into the room and stabbed him over and over again. Henry just wanted him to shut up, he wanted it all to shut up.
Once he was done, he ran out of the station, keeping to the shadows of the dark alleyways.
--------------------
Henry continues to stare up at the ceiling of the motel room. His mom had been gone for a while now. Sure, there was no possible way that cops could stop her, they both made sure of that. But of course that wouldn't stop vigilante justice from rising up. His mother was just one woman, and a group of people who wanted to avenge their slain neighbors could easily carry that task out. Fortunately, he hears the sound of the lock to the motel room clicking.
His mother walks into the room and removes her mask, an exhausted look on her face.
Henry gets up from his bed and runs over to her.
"Mom, are you alright? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Henry," she nods. "I'm...more than okay."
"So, it...it's over, now?" he asks, hopefully.
"Yes, it's done," she raises her hands to hold her son's face. "Now we're free. We can finally live a normal life."
"Where?"
"Anywhere you'd like," she smiles.
"Really?"
She nods once more.
"Then...then can we live...," he gives her the name of your hometown.
"I don't see why not. Although I don't know why out of all places you'd want to move there."
"I, um...," Henry sighs. "There's something I have to tell you."
A look of concern spreads across Marie's face.
"Okay."
"I...remember when we stopped there and...I had to kill that man at the carnival?"
She nods.
"And I told you that someone was following me around?"
"Yes."
"That...that wasn't true."
Marie's eyes widen.
"Henry," she places a hand over her heart.
"I know I should've done what you told me, and I did...eventually. I...I had fun with them, mom. For once in my life I felt normal. For once in my life I had fun. I...they gave me their number and I've been keeping in touch with them ever since. I...I love them, mom."
He finishes his confession and doesn't break his gaze from his mother's face.
A whole range of emotions go through her mind. She was upset at her son for lying to her. For getting distracted. Then again, that man paid in the end and...and her son was in love. And how was that something to be upset over.
"Oh, Henry," she pulls him into a hug, which he returns. "Remember to hold onto them tightly. To never let them go."
He nods.
"Now," she pulls away. "We've got a bit of a trip ahead of us. We need to rest up the best we can."
Henry smiles, and his mother walks away into the bathroom. He looks down at his hands. Hands that were conditioned to bring pain and death. But not anymore.
--------------------
Leaves in shades of oranges and browns dance in the wind as Henry walks down a sidewalk in your hometown. He and his mother pulled in a couple of hours ago, and he needed to stretch his legs.
Oh, and he also wanted to look for you as well.
He could've called you, but he wanted to find you. He wanted to surprise you. Luckily, he gets his chance.
As he passes by some diner windows, he glances inside and sees you sitting at a booth, too invested in your menu to notice him.
He enters, and you still don't look up. You don't look up until he is right by your booth.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"
Your head shoots up and a smile spreads across your face.
"Henry!" you stand from your seat and pull him into a tight embrace. He happily returns it. "When did you get into town?"
"A couple of hours ago. Decided to do some exploring."
You giggle and pull away.
"Oh! Are you hungry? Do you wanna have some lunch with me?" you ask
"Food sounds great."
Henry was no stranger with diner food once his mother decided to set her plan in motion. And you know what? He still enjoyed it. From eggs and pancakes to greasy hamburgers and french fries. So he ate what he ordered so eagerly, that you playfully asked him when the last time he even ate was.
Once the two of you finished eating and he made sure to beat you to paying at least for his own food, you decided to show him around town. All while you held his hand in your own, this time without the barrier of his leather gloves.
As you both walk, a flier catches your attention.
"Oh, hey! I got an idea!" you exclaim.
"What is it?" Henry asks, intrigued.
"The fall festival starts tomorrow. Do you wanna go?" you look up at him, still beaming.
"With you?" he asks, jokily. You nod.
"Well then. I think I do."
--------------------
You stand by the entrance of the festival, glancing around. Your friends came by and asked you to join them, but you told them you were waiting for someone, so they hesitantly left you be.
You eagerly bounce on the balls of your feet, the smells of cinnamon permeating the air. Then you spot him walking towards you, a smile on his face and his hands in his black trench coat pockets. You run to him, greeting him with a hug as you did back at the diner.
"What took you so long?" you ask.
"Sorry, my mom and I had to, uh, figure some things out," he says in a way that makes you want him to explain.
"What do you mean?" you look up at him. "How long are you two staying?"
"Hopefully forever."
Shock spreads across your face.
"Wha-wait? What?"
"Yeah, we...we're trying to find a place to live."
"I...," joy consumes you and you hug him even tighter. "Oh my God! Really?"
Henry chuckles and returns the hug, before patting you on the back.
"Come on. Are we gonna stand here, or are we gonna go to a festival?"
"Oh, right! Sorry," you pull away, and he offers you his hand, allowing you to drag him wherever you wanted to go.
--------------------
The night was no different to the night when you both first met, filled with games and candied apples. The only changes were that the weather was colder, and Henry was warmer.
Now the two of you were sitting at a picnic bench drinking some hot cocoa. While you were interested in your sweet beverage, he was glancing up at the lights strung up above you.
"This is nice," he remarks absentmindedly.
"It is," you smile over at him. He takes a deep breath before turning to you.
"Can I tell you something, Y/N?" he gazes into your eyes.
"Of course you can," you say, your cheeks growing warm from his eyes.
"I like this," he begins. "I like...I like hanging out with you."
"I like hanging out with you too, Henry," you nod.
"It...it's more than that," he shakes his head. "You're so sweet, so gentle. It's hard to believe that someone like you exists....And honestly, I am so happy that...that you decided to follow me around."
You let out a small laugh that makes his heartbeat increase.
"Yeah, I'm...I'm happy I decided to bug you, too. I had way more fun with you than I would've had by myself."
"There's...one more thing," after some debating in his head, Henry takes both of your hands into his own. "Until I met you, I didn't have the best life. My mom had me when she was young and my dad was killed. She had no one...she had nothing, and she tried to give me the best life she could, but....I knew that that life wasn't normal, that I wasn't normal. But you didn't care. You saw something in me."
He moves closer to you.
"When I'm with you, I feel normal. I feel so happy with you, and...a-and I love you, Y/N....I-I really really do."
You were silent throughout his whole confession, but you're smiling harder than you had ever before.
"You mean it?" you lean closer to him.
Henry nods, smiling back at your positive reaction.
It was at that moment that you felt like your happiness was overflowing, bubbling over the surface. So you do the first thing that comes to your mind.
You kiss him.
It's a little rough and awkward with you doing it so impulsively and with Henry having never kissed someone before, but you two evened it out rather quickly. And it felt like the best experience in your life. Both of your minds were completely empty, the only resident now being bliss. To make it even better, you both taste the hot cocoa on each other's lips.
Eventually, you two pull away, your smiles still not wiped away.
"I love you too, Henry," you begin. "I promise that I'll do anything I can to keep you happy."
Henry laughs.
"Believe me, Y/N, with you, that won't be very hard."

Summary: Henry and reader were good friends, now dating, but little does reader know, Henry is in love with her. Obsessed with her. And as the the Whistling Man returns, Henry let’s reader knows about how deep his feelings are.
——————————-
Look at me more.
Smile at me more.
Love me more.
The three phrases echoed in Henry’s mind. He knew his girlfriend loves him. He knows she’s faithful to him. No need to feel like this, but he wants more. Henry wished he could just have her in his arms all the time. Her soft and warm skin against his. Her scent overwhelming his nose, making him drunk from it. Her arms around him as if she needs to be protected. Her pretty head on his chest, the weight from her body pressing more onto him. He needed more.
Henry looked at his reflection before taking a deep breath in, looking down at a picture of his lovely girlfriend. Such a beauty, a shame that he couldn’t be with her every second of their lives. Boy does he wish he can. He stuffed the photo franticly into the pocket of his coat.
“Ready?” His mother asked. She handed him a blade. Henry slowly nod, taking the blade and putting it in his other pocket. His mother grabbed his cheeks and pressed a kiss on his forehead.
“Try your best not to get distracted. This town has to pay. Make me proud.”
Henry gave his mother another nod, but he knew he was going to get distracted. His true love isn’t with him. She’s with a friend instead since he had to make an excuse and an alibi for the night. All he could think was maybe, just maybe he could check up on her between kills.

“I’m glad we could hang out.” Alex smiled as he grabbed a soft drink from the mini fridge in the bedroom.
“Yeah, I’m happy you could make it!” She agreed, sitting at the end of the bed.
“I know that this day of the year is hard for you. Thought you would like some company.”
“Yeah, appreciate it.” Alex nod, sitting on the floor next to the bed. He held his drink from the top, letting it dangle over his knee.
“I’m surprised that your boyfriend allowed this.”
“What do you mean?” She asked, puzzled by his words. Alex laughed lightly, looking up at her.
“You know, he’s just so protective over you. I get that you two are dating, but he doesn’t got to guard you that much.”
She lightly laughed.
“He means no harm. Henry is a good guy.” She waved it off. She went down the stairs and grabbed Ponty’s Pizza. She played some music and offered Alex some pizza.
“Come on, let’s talk about something else, yeah?”

Henry wiped the blood of his blade. He stared at the lifeless eyes from the man he had just killed. He grabbed his phone and called his mother.
“Mom, I’ll go for him. I know where he’s at.”
“Ok. Be careful. Call me when you’re done. Then we’ll head to the station.”
Henry quickly muttered a ‘I love you’ to his mother before hanging up. He pulled out the picture of his true love. Oh how beautiful his girlfriend is. Every bit of her. Oh he loves her so much. Maybe a little too much. No, that’s not possible. You can never love someone too much. His mother proved that. All of this for his father. He would do the same for her. She could even ask him to and he would. There was no limit to what he would do for her. He thinks of her daily, over a million times.
Henry put the photo away and glanced at the body. Yeah, he would do this for his sweet love in a heartbeat. He put the blade away and walked over to her house. It was just perfect. He gets to see her and kill a target. And so her how deep his love for her goes.

She held Alex in her arms as he cried. His empty soda can forgotten on the ground with quite a few beers. Alex clinging on her sleeves.
“Just why my parents, you know?” The sobbing, drunken Alex sniffled.
“On this…fucking day too!” She pat his back, gently shushing him.
“You aren’t alone Alex. You’re ok.” She comforted him. Alex hiccuped, looking up at her.
“Yeah, I got you, don’t I?” He slurred a bit. Alex forced her on the bed, ignoring her scream and discomfort.
“Alex, no! Let me go!” She screeched. Alex brought his face closer with a more sickly smile.
“Come on. Do you know how, long I waited to get with you?” Alex gritted his teeth, sounding frustrated and upset.
“That Henry fuck ruined it all!” She flinched by his shout.
“Alex, please,” She whispered as panic continued to build.
Panic builder up, but no longer from Alex.
Alex suddenly got off of her, hitting the floor hard. A masked man in a long trench coat, the Whistling Man, grabbed him, throwing him against the desk and from wall to wall. Her frantic screams helped nothing as Alex got his serve beating.
The Whistling Man pulled out his blood stained knife with one hand, the other keeping Alex against the wall with a ball of his shirt. The blade being shoved deep inside Alex’s stomach. The Whistling Man took the blade out and threw Alex on the floor. He turned him over after getting on top, rising the knife with both hands.
Me
He stabbed the knife into his chest.
Me
He stabbed his chest again.
Me
And again.
Me
And again.
M e
Again.
The Whistling Man stabbed Alex directly in the heart, adding pressure as he watched him take his final breath. He tilted his head before taking the knife out. He turned to the mortified woman. He grabbed her as she tried to run out of the door.
“Shhh.” He turned her around and sat her on the bed. He took the mask off, revealing it was her boyfriend.
“Henry?!” She screeched, desperately trying to get away.
“Baby, he can’t hurt you anymore, it’s ok. I’m here.” He forced her into a hug, kissing the top of her head. Henry ignored her scared rambling and attempt to get away.
“Look at me,” He said calmly, grabbing her cheek with a hand.
“I will kill anyone for you. Understood? Anyone.” His sickly obsessed eyes staring into hers. He rubbed her cheek as he kept a firm grasp on her, but not enough to hurt her.
“I love you, ok?” He whispered. He lightly jerked her head as she tried to glance at Alex’a deceased body.
“Don’t look at him. Look at me.” He demanded. Her fearful eyes looking back at Henry.
“Much better,” He slightly smiled.
“Don’t try to run away. You got it?” He told her. She very slowly nodded her head, following his instructions. Henry wrapped his arms around just below her waist, laying his body over her legs. He felt her loud and fast beating heart, her visible shaking. He let out a content sigh, looking up at her. His eyes were no longer loving. Something darker and twisted, more deep.
How about Forrest and Peggy working with their coworker that’s accident prone? (Example: they fall down the stairs on a daily basis or get paper cuts often)
Note: second person pov, gender neutral reader
My apologies that this took so long to write. I feel like I've strayed a bit from the original request, but I hope it's still to your liking.
Thunder strikes twice
"You know, it surprises me how you even made it this far, especially during this night," you and Forrest make your way down the stairs to the first floor of the building, to check who rang the doorbell. Maybe not the greatest idea, considering that there is a killer on the loose, but oh well.
"You don't have to remind me about that, you know," it was a well known fact around KFAM that their new colleague was very much a disaster magnet. Thunder doesn't strike twice they say, but it would definitely strike them four times, in the exact same spot at the exact same time.
Either way, as the two of you walk down the stairs, fate decides to be extra cruel, as usual. You trip over your own feet and stumble off to the side to catch the wall instead of planting face first onto the floor. And just as that happens, your gaze lands on the doors of the building, where... who the heck is that?! Is that the Whistling Man?!
You see a man standing at the door, a black coat and a very noticeable white mask with red stains on it. That surely gotta be him, right?!
"'Play me on air?' What a freaky thing to find, huh?" Forrest's speech pulled you out of this trance you were in, or more like a state of panic. You rush to his side and pull him away from the door, firmly gripping his arm. He looks confused. "Hey, what was that for?"
"Did you not see him?!"
"See who?" Now you were just as dumbfounded as him. You definitely saw that, right? There's no way you imagined it, that white mask will surely appear in your dreams multiple times, turning them into nightmares.
"Are you kidding me? I definitely saw that! Forrest, if this is another one of your stupid jokes–"
"I'm not kidding, I didn't see anything. Maybe you hit your head too hard during one of the many accidents?" You sigh out of frustration and brush your hair back as a way to relieve at least a little of the stress that has been building up over the night. Without a word more, you go back up the stairs, almost tripping again when making a careless step upwards. Forrest catches up, and at the same time, your words catch up with him.
"Hey wait a moment, what do you mean 'one of your stupid jokes'?!"
You've seen him again. And again. And again. It feels like this damned killer has been lurking around KFAM, which makes it all the more suspicious. How can this be? How can he... she...? How can this person be making attacks on the outskirts of Gallows Creek and then appearing right outside the building. By all laws of physics, this should be impossible! Something more must be going on here. Which is exactly why–
"No, you're not going down with me. Knowing you, the whole building and yourself will end up in ruins."
"Don't treat me like I'm some kind of burden on you, you prick! I can handle myself perfectly fine!" You hated being treated like this. Sure, fate, or the universe, or God, or whatever doesn't really like you. Sure you make a mess of yourself and your surroundings almost anytime you do something. But that does not make you incapable! You're only a victim of circumstances, and not a careless person. So for them both to make it out like you are... it's offensive, to say the least.
"I'm sorry, but I think Forrest is right. It'd be better for you to stay here. Plus, who's gonna protect me if Forrest is down there?"
"Well, if you think I'm not capable of making a trip down to the basement, how can I be any capable of protecting you from a killer, huh?" Sure, maybe you were acting like a child. But it's a sensitive topic, so it's a natural reaction, like a fight or flight response.
"Come on now, don't be like that. You know we only want the best for you," you hate the fact that Peggy is so kind. Maybe if she was a prick like Forrest, then you wouldn't feel so bad about throwing a tantrum.
"...Right. Okay. Fine. But you better be back soon."
Forrest leaves the recording room, the door slowly closing behind him. You and Peggy sit in silence for a while, giving yourselves time to process the situation.
"It's for the best. Let's be real, Forrest can probably protect himself better than both of us combined."
"Can he though?" You raise an eyebrow, your eyes narrowing slightly as you cross your arms over your chest.
"Fair point," you can hear the muffled sounds of Peggy's quiet but joyful laughter. You can almost physically feel your heart become all warm and fuzzy. This woman really is like a gift to this world, huh?
The two of you spend time chatting, while you aimlessly walk around the room and take in your surroundings. At some point, you've stopped at the map hanging on the right wall, and started asking Peggy questions about what is where, what places she's personally visited, yada yada. However, your chitchat is quickly interrupted by Peggy receiving a call. On her personal phone nonetheless. You immediately have your guard up, because judging from Peggy's expression, something is not right here.
"Peggy? Who was that?"
"It's... it's Forrest! He said he needs help!" Upon hearing those words, you panick and want to rush down there to come to the rescue, but your mind quickly stops you. Why'd Forrest contact Peggy on her personal phone instead of just using the intercom? Something is definitely fishy here. But then again, what is "normal" about this night?
"Forrest...? Are you sure? It could be someone pretending to be him, you know."
"Why would someone do that?"
"To... lure one of us out?" Judging from the silence that fills the air, your suspicions are correct, and Peggy received some strange, suspicious call, and is trying to get you out of the picture for whatever reason.
Despite not working here for a long time, you know Peggy. She can be stubborn as hell. And the fact that she can't hide her emotions at all makes it all the more worse, because if you didn't know what she was up to, you wouldn't have to worry. "...Fine. I'm gonna go see what he's up to. You... be careful."
You both know what it means. You both realize it. Yet you still choose to accept things the way they are. But... at this point, what choice do you have?
You leave the room to go check up on Forrest, a twinge of worry bubbling up in your mind. What if something did happen to him? You know you're the one here who's very accident prone, but... on this night, fate turned against everyone, so there is no way to tell what's going to happen.
Entering the hall behind the reception, you're fairly certain that you hear Forrest somewhere in the storage room. Or was it the kitchen? Might as well check the kitchen, right? And preferably grab a snack or two on the way. Something makes you especially hungry when you're up late at night.
Grabbing a cup and placing it on the counter, you walk over to the fridge to check if there's something in there. Of course, it just so had to be that the counter had water spilt on it, and you placed that cup very conveniently in the puddle of that liquid. The cup slid off and shattered on the ground, its broken pieces flying all over the floor. Great...
While you were busy carefully stepping around the floor that felt like a minefield now, you didn't notice the sound of footsteps retreating from the storage room. But you did very clearly hear the sound of the door closing and being locked...
Once you're done sweeping off the shards in a hurry, you get up and open the door, but quickly rush back in to hide behind it.
The Whistling Man...
Slowly, you peak out from the narrow gap of the open door, looking around for the killer. Once you are sure the coast is clear, you creep out from the kitchen and make your way to the storage room. Unfortunately, fate clearly has some plans for you, as an empty can of paint falls right behind you, making painfully loud clink-clanks against the floor. Damn it.
Oh no, how the hell did she get here?! You've seen her outside the building multiple times, but how come she is inside now?! This can't be... Forrest! Your panic quickly gets replaced by a stubborn sense of determination. You have to warn your colleague. No, you have to save him.
Acting fast, you slip into Clive's little hangout spot, and from there, into the backroom. You try to make your way through the dusty shelves as carefully as physically possible, and surprisingly enough, succeed. The silence is piercing, and it scares you to death. But what scares you even more is the sudden sound of the door being opened, and that familiar tune whistled somewhere from the entrance. A tune that everyone grew to despise and fear during this night.
Your breath hitches in your throat. You feel as if your ribs are going to crash your insides. You feel your lungs burning. When come face to face with a ruthless, psychopathic killer, you have only yourself to relay on.
You can hear the squelching sounds of blood from beneath her boots as she creeps around the shelves, looking for her prey like an avid hunter... What a freak. The chances of escape are minimal, but not zero. You steady out your breathing and focus on the sounds around, while watching every step of the killer from your peripheral vision to make more accurate measurements. You can hear her dragging a sharp, metal knife along the wall, clanking it against the shelves. Is she trying to scare you on purpose? Well too bad. Your adrenaline is way too high now, but it is not fear based. Seems like your body has chosen to fight.
Once you see her go further inside, you quickly come out of your hiding spot. The plan was to lure her further in and lock her. She did get out from such a trap before, but... somehow you doubt Maurice in his abilities. But, who wouldn't, if we're being fair?
Either way, picking up a cassette player that was on one of the shelves, you aim it somewhere deeper into the room. You'll have to throw it in a way that the Whistling Man won't suspect that it came from your side. So you prepare to throw the thing...
...And of course it just had to land straight on her head. And pretty hard too. If it didn't hit her, you probably wouldn't have even realized how tightly you were clutching that thing.
...Well, okay, maybe you did want to throw it at her. But there's bad news, she of course noticed that, and now you see the lifeless holes of that bloody mask staring straight at you. Wonderful. This night just keeps getting better and better.
And now, since the fight response didn't exactly work out... the next step is to run. You turn around with the speed of light, booking it the hell out of there. You throw over like 2 stacks of crates and a small coffee table while running up the stairs to the second floor to find Forrest. Wait, there he is! In... Peggy's booth...? Damn it, that means she probabaly left somewhere. But hey, at least if the Whistling Man is here, and you don't see your coworker's body anywhere, that must mean she is safe, right?
You run into the room as soon as possible and grab onto Forrest's arm, trying to pull him out and away from there.
"Huh–?! Oh, it's just you. Where the hell have you been? And where's Peggy?"
"No time to explain! We have to–"
Before you could finish, the door slams shut behind you both. Locked. Oh no... did you fall right into her trap? Or was it you all along who was doomed to bring disaster everywhere you go? Maybe this whole thing started because of you...
Well, no, that's too much of a stretch. Sure, you can barely walk two feet without some kind of accident happening to you or around you, but to think that this is somehow your fault is absurd. As you come back to reality to hear the conversation between Dawn and Forrest, something catches your attention:
"Meet my boy. Henry Barrow."
...Excuse me?
Ohh she's definitely not gonna be happy about what you did down in the basement to "her boy" just now... eeesh.
This is me figuring out some Gallows Creek world building, trying to get Henry’s vibes right, putting my two cents in on what would happen to Henry semi realistically as well with horror movie logic, etc..kinda not proofread lmfao
May become a series cuz I fuck with this tbh, also making fanart soon, doing some research n stuff to figure out how I think the characters would look like (ik we got photos but it’s more so my HCs of them ig lmfao)

Finger tips smeared blood along your jaw, you wanted to flinch away at the contact but you stayed deadly still out of fear. You were too tired to flee even if you wanted to run until you couldn’t anymore. A serial killer was on top of you, donning a blood splattered, mostly white mask so pale it made even the moon envious, he stared down at you with black voids for eyes with black locks adorning his head, framing his mask like a black halo.
He was so close, you could smell the stench of blood rolling off of him alongside musk, your nose twitching at the overwhelming stench that reek from him.
You weren’t unaware of who this was..
This was the infamous Henry Barrow, the Whistling Man.
The Whistling Slaughters of 1987, many lives were taken that night and many had been saved from the clutches of death because of Peggy Weaver and Forrest Nash, two employees of the 189.16 KFAM station who had handled the 911 calls that night. It’s been a couple of years since the murder spree.
You were fortunate enough to have been out of town at the time, as you were visiting your grandparents in Henderson to help them out with moving things around their house. At the time, you were living with your parents in Gallows Creek, staying with them to be able to save up enough money to get your own place in town. Thankful that your parents were safe when you came back the next day, finding out that your parents could’ve been potentially murdered was not something you’d want to find after coming home from a nice, lovely visit from your grandparents’ place.
The mood in Gallows Creek had reasonably dampened after that night because of the truth being revealed about a past incident that had been covered up and the brutal killings, in the recent years, however, things had slowly become lighter as time passed. The lives lost weren’t forgotten, they were remembered and even had a plaque made in honor of them that you frequently see having fresh flowers placed there.
Not all deaths from that night were honored though.
Marie Campbell, the mastermind behind the duo of the Whistling Men, was reported over the radio in real time to have disappeared after running away from the police, later on in the night she had jumped off Whistling Point, the same place where her boyfriend died all those years ago, to escape police custody.
They had never found her body even years later, it was presumed that she was most likely dead due to the height of the drop.
It was somewhat poetic in a way..dying the same way and place as your lover had, you wondered if they did find her body would they bury her alongside George? Although her actions were wrong and she had taken lives, the “prank” had led to a horrible tragedy and ripped two families apart. The Barrow family and the Campbell family, both torn from a loss of their children but in two different ways. Marie was clearly heartbroken, she had no one to turn to for help and had to handle raising their baby alone.
Would it be considered cruel if they buried her all alone or would it be fine since she had killed people?
Besides that..
This meant that Henry Barrow, the unknown son of George Barrow and Marie Campbell, was all alone. Henry had gotten arrested after trying to flee from the radio station once the police arrived, he was overpowered by the amount of police and was put into police custody after being checked into the hospital for the bullet wounds he got from that night.
You heard it truly baffled many authorities and doctors that there was zero record of him in the databases, doctors had to be careful to make sure he wasn’t allergic to any medication given to him while in recovery. After the hospital declared him good to go, he was swiftly taken to the police station. His finger prints were taken, his photograph taken as well and all that he had on his body was bagged for evidence, it was said that his criminal record was the first ever evidence of his very existence.
Henry’s criminal record was deemed his birth certificate.
Alongside that sad truth, there was so much legal trouble that came after his arrest, authorities of all kinds had discourse over where he shall be placed due to if he was considered completely insane or was mentally stable enough to handle a trial in court.
There were whispers of him never speaking during the whole ordeal, not even when a lawyer came in to speak with him about the trial. Hell, even a well known psychiatrist that came into town just to take a shot at getting him to talk couldn’t crack him open.
It was decided that he was deemed mentally unstable to be around others and too unstable to enter society, this decision was made due to the facts that his upbringing was almost entirely cratered to be an obedient killing machine and his complete hermit behavior that was exhibited since capture was deemed socially unfit. It was made a point that he may not have even been entirely aware of his actions because of his mother making it quite clear that she trained him since he was young, that sort of upbringing can easily have one’s rights and wrongs manipulated to fit the benefiter’s desires.
There were lots of arguments and agreements over his mental state and behavior, if he was aware or not and so forth..in the end, instead of being placed in a prison, he would be placed in a psychiatric facility.
The news of his placement not being behind bars had rattled the town, there were protests and uproar about this decision. Those who had a loved one lost that night were angry that he wouldn’t be rotting away in a prison cell, some understood that it was a strange situation that wouldn’t end the way that they may not want…either way but the decision was final.
There were still some who disagreed with the decision but it quieted down as time moved on, Henry was placed in a psychiatric facility quite far from Gallows Creek which made a sense of ease go over the town and the psychiatrist that had visited Henry became his primary psychiatrist at the facility from what you had heard..
It was 4 years after he managed to escape from the psychiatric facility, it struck utter fear into the town with everyone looking over their shoulders, everyone paranoid about if he would return to seek revenge not only for his father but now for his mother too..but days turned into weeks, months and then years of nothing happening. There were some stupid pranks made by teens that thought it was funny to mess with the town, but besides that there were no incidents that connected to Henry Barrow.
The police couldn’t find him, even though they had searched high and low in the surrounding areas of the facility and Gallows Creek.
Curfews had taken place since then so no one could stay out too long at night for safety alongside with police patrolling around Gallows Creek, but with no unusual activity and the safety measures taken place the people of Gallows Creek had settled down after. The belief that he had died out in the wilderness after his escape prospered until it was just told as if it were a 100% fact.
During that time you had moved out of your parents’ place and into your own place in town, it’s a nice home that was nestled between two other houses on Myers Lane. Your move wasn’t very far really, your parents lived just across town on Axe-Down Lane, a bit of forestry separating them from the Mac’s Diner you guys would go to for breakfast whenever your dad burnt breakfast.
You were quite proud of yourself for finally having a place to call your own, but now that pride you had was wiped from the face of the earth and replaced with massive amounts of regret for not taking up your concerned grandparents’ offer of moving in with them after the killings.
You really wish you took up their offer because you had a dead pizza delivery guy on your floor and a serial killer touching your face with his bloody fingers.
You had to stop yourself from gagging as the memory of the corpse on the ground flashed in your head, guts spewed out and his poor face slashed open by a knife. You close your eyes, feeling his fingers rise further up from your jaw and continue to trace each curve of your face with blood being left behind where he touched you.
Surrounding you both was a mess, blood splattered all over the floor and wall, your flower filled vase was shattered, broken lamp pieces coated in blood…all the signs that there was a fight for survival.
Earlier you had opened your front door, ready to pay for the Ponty’s pizza that you ordered over the phone after finishing putting away the last remaining belongings of yours from the moving boxes that you had been procrastinating on going through.
All you wanted was to treat yourself to a cheesy early dinner while you watched whatever program was on that evening.
As you handed the money over, the delivery boy gave you a voice cracked ‘Thank you’ and before you both knew it, the moment your hand touched his, the whistling began.
But the delivery guy and you noticed the whistling a second too late.
You were first to notice the large dark figure quickly striding up towards you both, the white mask standing out from his all dark clothes. You let out a startled yelp, the delivery boy quickly spun around to see what made you scared, once his eyes landed on the masked figure, he let out a shriek, “HOLY FUCKING SHIT!” dropping the pizza on your patio in his panic.
You snatched his arm and pulled him towards your door and tried to shut the door after the delivery guy scrambled inside and stood behind you, but the figure's large body slammed into the door before you could fully shut it.
The force of the door swinging back open knocked you backwards, colliding with the fearful guy behind you and led to you both tumbling to the floor and you landing on top of him, leading to both of you being disoriented alongside frantic to get up from the ground. The Whistling Man stood there in the doorway with his shadow swallowing you both whole, his fists were clenched and shaking, like pure anger was surging through him just at the sight of you two being so close in proximity.
You both scrambled to get up from the ground after getting away from one another, The Whistling Man stalked into your home quickly and slammed the door shut behind him, a noticeable ’click!’ reached your ears meaning the door was locked.
Your ankle was snatched right before you were able to get up from the ground, making you fall back on your back again which knocked the air out of you due to the harsh landing. Your pained wheeze was cut short by the loud cry that ripped from your throat as you’re dragged towards the looming killer, you attempt to break free by kicking with all your might whilst trying to yank yourself free from his grasp. “Let go!” You screeched.
The teen was able to get up from the ground and more fear spilled into your body when he left your sight, making you think he had fucking left you here. Dread pooled through your entire body as you get yanked further towards the deranged man.
“Eat this, bitch!”
A lamp comes into view, the teen quickly slamming the lamp from the side table beside your couch onto the assailant’s head. The lamp shattered upon impact, relief flooded your system, fucking overjoyed that he didn’t leave you for dead.
The Whistling Man let you go, snarling in anger at the attack which gave you enough time to get to your feet and put distance between you two, you grabbed the teen’s wrist to try and escape to the back door.
The Whistling Man was faster and far stronger though.
He snatched the back of the young man’s shirt and yanked him back so violently he was ripped from your grasp and had no time to attempt at grabbing him again, “Let go of me!” The teenager screeched at the man. The two quickly found themselves on the ground, tussling and throwing punches and jabs. You gotta admit, the kid was putting up a good fight.
You bolted to grab anything you could use as a weapon like the kid had done earlier with the lamp but as your hands found the sturdy flower vase your mother had gifted you as a little gift for your newly bought home, an ear piercing screech filled the air.
Your eyes snapped back at the two tussling men, the killer had quickly brandished a knife and had viscously jabbed it into the boy’s stomach once he finally got the upper hand and got on top of the delivery guy. Your stomach dropped at the sight of him getting gutted like a goddamn pig. Alongside the knife ripping the fabric, the blood that began spewing out soaked the Ponty’s pizza uniform that he wore.
Bile rises in your throat, almost vomiting your guts out onto the floor but you didn’t want to just stand there and do nothing, you had to save the poor kid.
You lifted the vase and tried to slam the vase down onto the killer’s head with all your might but the killer yanked the knife from the boy’s slashed open belly and swiped at your thigh with the blood-covered blade. Leading to your skin being sliced open, a deep wound instantly spewing blood down your leg.
You cried out in pain and lurch backwards causing you to drop the vase, it shatters upon contact with the ground which ruined your plan of using it to harm the Whistling Man. In that moment, the killer abandoned the bleeding boy and grabbed your lower calf in a tight grip to yank you forward towards him resulting in you falling backwards and hitting the back of your head on the hard floor.
The Whistling Man quickly got off the dying delivery guy and climbed on top of you before you could even attempt to get up, he stuck the knife into the ground to the side so he could wrap both of his blood soaked hands around your throat.
A growl escaped from his throat, low and chilling. You tried to take a gulp of air before his fingers could restrict airflow, he then started to choke you making you let out gurgled choked cries, you clawed with all your might at his wrists to try and get him to loosen his grip but your fingers kept making contact with the leather gloves and his coat sleeves.
You attempted to kick your feet like you had earlier to try and land somewhere to give you any kind of an opening to escape but the way he knelt on top of you limited your legs movements, his grip on your throat getting tighter.
Tears rolled down your cheeks and your vision was getting blurrier and blurrier, you let go of one of his wrists and reached upwards to claw at his mask but your strength had grown quite weak. Your attempts at clawing were more like you were trying to crease him, unnoticeably it made him shudder at the touch with a quiet, shaky breath escaping him too.
Your eyes were fluttering shut as your hand that was near his mask went slightly limp and fell to the ground and the other that had a once tight grip on his wrist loosened until you couldn’t hold on anymore, no longer having the strength to hold up your arm nor try to pull at his wrist.
When it almost became too dark to see the mask of the man who was about to kill you, the restriction around your throat had disappeared suddenly allowing you to gasp for air, gulping down air greedily to be able to fill your lungs with much needed oxygen.
Your vision returns slowly but surely, the killer had gotten off of you before grabbing his knife while you tried to regain the strength that was drained from you. You see his blurry figure go back to the kid who had tried to scoot away while the killer was distracted with almost choking you to death. You coughed hard as you tried to breathe, throat aching painfully as you did.
You could hear the boy's faint pleas for his life but the sound of slicing flesh and gurgled wails silenced those pleas until there were no more.
The grotesque noises overwhelm your ears, you snap your eyes shut immediately after glancing over at what was being done to the guy. Not wanting to witness the horrors being done to that poor kid anymore.
Your heart was pounding, your ears were ringing and the throbbing pain on the back of your head was becoming more noticeable as time passed.
‘I don’t want to die..’
You had thought which led to fresh tears rolling down your cheeks while the adrenaline faded allowing pain from your current injuries finally settle in. You let out a sob of dread at the thought of dying in your newly bought home, you wanted to make memories here like you had in your childhood home, like you had at your grandparents’ home..you just wanted your own little place where you can be joined by your loved ones.
‘Maybe I could survive this if I can just..’
Opening your eyes and using all of your strength to sit up slowly so you could try to crawl towards the front door, it was fucking ballsy considering he was close to it but if you were able to get to it without being noticed, unlock it and use the power of wanting to survive this shit to get you on your fucking feet and bolt to one of your neighbors for help. You may be able to survive this.
Your eyes land on the Whistling Man, who was still distracted with his brutal attack on the dead delivery guy, still stabbing and tearing into his corpse viscously like the guy had personally offended him somehow. The sight was sickening, the delivery guy’s fucking eye was even hanging out of the socket.
A shudder ran through your body as you slowly rolled over so you were now laying on your stomach, you bit your lip hard to keep in your pained whines as the gash in your leg burned fiercely, you could feel the sticky warm blood pour from it.
Your floors are covered in blood, when you survive this..fuck- if you survive this..you’re gonna tear out the damn floors if you can’t somehow get the blood out.
Slowly, you began to crawl as quietly as you could to not alert the mad man, aiming to try and get out of his field of vision by getting behind him. Cringing with each stinging pain that flared up in your body, it was so hard to keep the noises that threatened to escape you with each movement you made down. The ringing in your ears and the pounding of your heartbeat alongside it was muffling any other noise as you lessen the distance between you and the door, the waning distance caused your small hope of survival to grow as you got closer to the door.
You managed to get onto your hands and knees so you could be tall enough to reach the door knob, with a shaky hand you took hold of the lock and slowly twisted it to quietly unlock it whilst you slowly got to your feet to get ready to bolt. Growing anxiety made your body tremble but a new wave of adrenaline washed over you as the hope of escaping became more and more of a reality.
‘click!’
The silence was so loud after you unlocked the front door, quickly turning the doorknob to get the door open as fast as possible while the sound of shifting fabric and hurried footsteps reached your ears. You threw open the door and booked it but blood caked, strong arms wrapped around your waist and yanked you backwards, you let out a blood curling scream as you quick and thrashed as hard as you could as you got dragged back inside.
“HELP! HELP ME PLEASE!” You screamed as loud as you could, a loud grunt escaping the killer that held you tight as your thrashing caused some difficulty. He lifted you enough to where your feet weren’t even close to touching the ground, making you realize the tall height he had.
He slammed the door shut and you let out a heartbroken wail, your freedom being locked away behind the door once again.
Henry Barrow throws you to the ground, you cry out in pain as you land on your wounded thigh when you hit the floor. You just lay there and weep, body trembling with each broken sob, you didn't bother to get up and didn’t bother to fight him as he got on top of you and turned you on your back.
Eyes oh so glassy and full of tears, you watched him as he cocked his head slowly to the side, heavy breathing escaping him from all that had happened. His entire front was covered in blood, his mask having splatters of blood ruining the pale white and blood was dribbling down his cheek like he was crying blood.
Some of the droplets landed on your face, making you flinch each time. A noise of some kind escaped his throat, sounding like a hum of sorts. One of his hands reached towards your face, bloody fingers grazing the droplet on your flesh which led to him smearing the blood along your skin.
That’s how you ended up with the deranged serial killer on top of you, touching your face in a way that made you think he was trying to memorize each curve. You hoped, fuck you absolutely hoped that the screams from earlier and your scream when you were outside for a few seconds was enough, you didn’t want your poor parents to find out that their kid died..oh god the poor parents of the delivery kid…
“Please…” you whimper out, “Please, Henry..don’t kill me..” your throat hurts so bad, raw from the screaming, crying and surely bruised from being choked hard earlier. You shut your eyes, continuing to cry as you plead one last time for your life.
There was a quiet sigh after a moment of silence.
Before anything else could happen. Police sirens could be heard, your eyes snapped open and looked at the window near your front door as flashing red and blue lights peaked through the window and a croaked cry of joy escaped your throat at the sight, not caring about the killer on top of you anymore. Henry sneered at the sight of the cops, muttering a curse before getting off of you.
There was shouting outside, too muffled for you to hear until they were shouting right outside your door.
“This is the Gallows Creek Police! Open up!”
Henry seemed to hesitate for a second, looking at the door then back at you, he made his decision with whatever he was thinking and quickly booked it to the back entrance of your house to escape police custody like he had done many years ago.
The door slams open, armed officers having their pistols raised make their way inside, your vision begins to get blurry again. You were too tired to get up, too tired to shed anymore tears as you just laid there on the bloody ground.
You try to fight the heaviness of your eyelids to stop them from closing, knowing that with how hard you hit your head that you may not wake up later. You croak out a quiet “help..”, but the police took notice of the sight of you before hearing your pathetically quiet plea for help. Quickly, an office came to your side while the other two scoped out the place to make sure the coast was clear.
Your vision grew darker as you heard muffled voices all around you, the cop beside you being the most clear out of them all, “it’s alright, I got you, my name is Officer Martinaz, you’re safe now..”.
With that, your eyes finally closed as you muttered out incoherent words as you barely clung to consciousness, you were so fucking tired.
And hungry..man you were still hungry..
