Killua Zoldyck couldn’t be happier with his life. He’s attending his dream school, living with his sister, pursuing an arts degree, and pissing off his parents via all of the above. With the second semester of his junior year underway, the only thing that could go wrong for him would be failing to get into his dream senior seminar.

Or learning that his sister is newly dating Gon Freecss, the same (only) guy Killua hooked up with back in September and promptly ghosted after being asked to dinner. Or discovering that Gon is also trying to get into the same senior seminar. Or realizing that he really, seriously should have just gone to business school and avoided this whole emotional crisis.

Art is pain and so is life, right?

nogoodalone is on that streak istg. first they drop full count, and now this?? and they like- masterfully managed to weave in that alluka/gon love triangle, but in a way that is actually funny and endearing, and (most importantly) doesn't make me wanna leap into the nearest bush. adored every second of reading this.

Killua is a rockstar with some… messy habits. That’s how he tells it to his sister when she calls, the reality of it is a lot more destructive.

Except now she’s not calling, she’s in his hotel room writing on his arm cast (no, he doesn’t remember how he broke it) and demanding to join him and his band for their cross-country tour. He can’t send her home for obvious reasons. He needs someone to keep an eye on her, or more accurately, keep her eyes off the disaster that is his life.

And when his band manager Bisky says she knows the perfect person he thinks that maybe, he’s finally got lucky, and maybe it will all be fine.

Except things are never, ever, fine with him.

Gon, who wants Killua for reasons beyond Killua’s understanding, but who might just end up destroying him anyway.

Oh it’s PERFECT (all of @decembercamiecherries fics are, girl’s a queen). I actually haven’t read this one yet and it will 100% be how I’m spending the rest of this lovely corona-Monday. It even has illustrations–-wild.

For years Gon worked to commit that expression to memory; toiled under the tortuously slow process of unpacking it; until he knew the shape of the look when it fell weighty between his shoulder blades. The dip of his throat. The side of his face when Killua imagined himself subtle.

Hungry.

He wears that face more often than not of late, and it strikes Gon that Killua must be starving after all these years.

He misses it. Fighting.

Ballet took off the nervous edge from not being as active as he used to, but it didn’t quite replace the feeling or tension he felt during a good sparring. He misses the feeling of his heart at his throat, pounding, as he swings fist and foot, technique after technique, to knock his opponent out.

So he doesn’t protest when Bisky takes him to the industrial zone in YorkNew City, to some underground ring she supposedly sponsors. He watches as his world tilts on his axis, and he gets thrown into a world he didn’t know existed.

He watches as Gon Freecss comes stumbling into his life, and turns it completely upside with one swift punch to the gut.

((or: Killua does ballet but wishes for a little more in his life, and Gon participates in a fight club as the undefeated fighter. Their paths cross, and there grows a little something more.))

It's a master plan, really: they pretend to date for long enough that people forget the rumors that Killua's dating adults (he's not and the rumors are gross), and Gon convinces everyone he can hold a partner longer than a few weeks. It's a bet. A challenge. Neither Gon or Killua can resist.

What could go wrong?
