What are your thoughts on the latest case with fake yusaku? What are your general predictions for the next case?
I thought it was a very pleasant surprise to see Vermouth's disguising skills to this level (of disguising as another impersonator), and it is quite endearing to see her helping Conan with the interview for no other purpose than out of her own good will and care for him (seeing as her only goal was really just the "food poisoning").
Also exciting to see that Rum is making further moves on the Kudo household, but what is more alarming and promising is the fact that he didn't rely on Bourbon this time. We all are suspecting that Bourbon must have sent a reply to Rum regarding his Kudo Shinichi request during the tea party (File 1012), and this reply seemingly bought team Shin-chan time (File 1045). However, the fact that Rum didn't rely on Bourbon further for the Yusaku investigation could actually be the opposite of winning favorable time, and more so a foreboding one, since it is very likely a bad sign of Rum losing trust in Bourbon. If that's the case, then Bourbon's reply to Rum could have been either too insufficient for his caliber or, more likely, contradictory to Rum's own knowledge of the Kudo situation.
The upcoming "big move" from the BO is the best part of all this, since this is our first sign of a serious BO plot progression, since Mystery Train (File 818). Based on the scene in Gin's porsche, we can infer that Vermouth's meeting with the duo has nothing to do with her Yusakid stunt, and that they are planning something different. The fact Akai and Yusaku seemed sure of that the BO was gonna make a big move (as well as the unusual number or FBI agents in the house [and Hey, Jodie is back! :D]) seems to imply that the FBI have gotten another warning message from Kir. Perhaps this is finally the awaited moment where we learn the original mission of Rum that Kir was trying to warn about (File 898). This could become a big clue to Rum's identity.
