Hi!!! I've been curious if you could identify this font? I've been obssessed with how striking it looks.
Thank you for the ask! Sorry you waited so long for a kinda nothing answer, but I ran it through a few font identifiers and unfortunately came back with nothing. It doesn't look like any font I've seen before, and in fact, if you look at the E's you can tell they have slight differences between them. That implies that the artist behind this may have drawn the letters instead of using a font! Therefore, it likely doesn't have an existing font tied to it at all.
I got a feeling it's the whole (Thing) vs (Thing) in 💖JAPAN💖 because selfshipping is associated with cringe culture and is a known term to folks outside the know (see that one Youtuber who made a vid making fun of selfshippers), so I feel like people want to distinguish with something better sounding or new away from the stigma the regular term has.
It's also just orientalism. It just comes off as more "aesthetic" sounding.

Huh. Never understood why selfshipping is associated with cringe culture in the first place. People like fiction. People on the internet have fictional crushes. Who are they to judge. Personally I’ve never seen other people mock selfshippers but I’ve heard that we do get a bad rap(often unfairly).
And yeah the whole orientalism thing… I will never understand. What’s so aesthetic about it? Sure, Japanese is a beautiful language. So is every other language. I don’t see why it’s considered particularly beautiful.
Is yumeshipping different from selfshipping? Is it better than selfshipping? If so, why yumeship in English-speaking selfship spaces instead of moving to Japanese yume spaces?

OUGGHEHEB!! a lot of dexters high school life is changed.. he and my s/i were high school sweethearts ,, each other's first love as they only really had each other in school. university comes around and the two are separated (my s/i goes to Tampa for uni) until the events of Dexter (2006) , where my s/i returns to Miami for an art exhibition that his art is featured in .. then he sees dexter again!!! they rekindle their relationship but he's still unaware of dex's dark passenger . in terms of other canon stuff being changed, dexter didn't date anyone else after chase... he just sat and wait for him really ,,

FLUFF!! because I cannot handle angst I get upset.... dex brings out the best in chase and chase brings out the best in dex!! they're just so in love... I guess some angst with the dark passenger stuff and the fact they had to break up for uni ,,,

i would say my s/i is portrayed as an anchor in dexters life the most... he helps dexter feel "human" and "normal" . as dex has been told most of his life that he isn't normal,, it's so comforting to him that someone sees him as human. i personally hc dexter with bpd too so he'd very attached to him,, but this is a healthy relationship!! I feel like some people would probably see it as controlling as dex is terrified of losing him..... he's the only person who makes him feel okay.
