Hmmmm admittedly I don't do as much reading and learning about things as I should now that I'm out of school so there's nothing I'm actively studying BUT something I am slowly gaining passive knowledge about is DID/other dissociative disorders!! One of my girlfriends is a system + whenever she talks about her alters I learn more from him sharing his experiences! Also at work I am learning about a new computer system we'll be transferring our data to this summer!

sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?

Fiction for sure!! Anything with The Character!! I have always been a huge fictional character enthusiast so I get attached to lil fictional guys and their stories very easily!! If I had to guess it has to do with my own identity struggles + me seeing pieces of myself and/or projecting parts of myself onto different characters that grab my attention! Music is a close second though...I love a song with lyrics that match how I'm feeling at the moment...

lazuuuu hi hi!!!! tell me what are some of your favorite character designs!!

Hi Miki!! how are youuu? This question was a bit hard omg!! Under the cut because it's a Lot:

Starting with enst designs (of course), because they are put on different outfits so often it's a bit tricky to choose... and the casual fits (the "default designs") are the closest thing they have. No character really stands out to me* (really, it's weird ahfkdhs) However I do like Undead's casual fits the most, both the old ones and new ones. I think they fit the characters well.

+ I like Leo's 3rd year design, the fleur de lis motif on the hoodie (to symbolize Knights, afaik no other knights member, not even Tsukasa when he already was king had a motif to tie to their unit on their uniform🤔), black boots and a black tie (that isn't part of the school uniform, reminds me a bit of how Koga uses a different tie, black also!) gives him a punk-ish look that i love. and it fits with his chaotic personality back then.

*That being said, the exception is Mika. Mika should not make sense design wise. He has black hair with a green-ish tint, gold and blue eyes, and primarily dresses in dark red (Valkyrie's color) he should be a design nightmare (i still think his second summer casual is a visual disgrace, but in character nonetheless). But no! it works brilliantly:

+ two of my fav Mika fits !!!, the mess of colors does not really matter with him. i really like the hoshi no meidou one (the scr is dark red primarily and so good!) because of the stars motif too 💜

lastly about enst, i do like red eyes on characters in general so shout out to the Sakumas (of course adding the vampire motif to this is a Big plus), and Chiaki's reddish brown eyes. do i think their designs are spectacularly outstanding no, but i like them by default

Now moving on to others:

I loveeee Sango Harukawa's character designs most of the time, both Atsushi and Akutagawa are very iconic to me (because of the matching pallette, i love matching pallettes with duos.. and they're weird looking! they both have fuckass hair bfkdjs) but the alternate designs she made for the Beast light novel are CRAZY GOOD to me!!!!

(Kyouka and Atsushi are my favs, and i did like Akutagawa and Ranpo's redesign too but could not find a good pic)...

I'm a known hater for hs*r designs because the girls all have a variation of white dress with some bullshit on top (i don't really like the girls designs....) but i do like Castorice's so much (+ she has butterfly motifs and is purple. there's nothing better) and i literally started playing this game because of Anaxa's design i think it's a banger even though i don't think it fits with the setting he's in???? or the fact he's a scientist/professor. doesn't really look like that (even though the eyepatch is for valid story reasons) my fav detail is the alchemical tattoos he has + he has a spark of red on his eye and also! Star motif 💜

speaking of butterflies, and purple: i really really really like k*ny's Shinobu:

i specially like how Gotouge draws her bird-like when fighting. It's supposed to resemble the wings of a butterfly but i can't help to think about hummingbirds.

From fe*3h, i like most of the timeskip designs for the students. (three houses designs are really well thought in general imo) But the ones i love the most (and also, drew the most back then so i kind of have them memorized) are Felix and Annette's:

I like that they're practical for them and how they fit with their actual personalities. + The capes trimmed with fur also fit with the fact they live in a cold country and i think thats a cool detail. Felix's asymmetrical design is so fun to figure out and draw tbh (shoutout to the main lords' timeskip designs too i really like them although they're a nightmare to draw abfksh and Lysithea's i love her design so muchhh).

From FE echoes i really like Celica's redesign, from the original game. Celica's a priestess and also a [spoiler! princess], i think this design really fits that role.

(the artist for this game is Hidari, their artstyle is really really good and this game has very good designs although simplistic at times. Others i like are Leon, and Mila)

Lastly from FE, FE7's Ninian has one of my fav designs ever, she's a dancer, ice dragon lady (how cool is that!)

Left: Original game artwork by Sachiko Wada, and right is one of her alts in the gacha game. I like that her design is simple (like many f*ire emblem designs from that era) but recognizable enough. She also reminds me of a mermaid 💜 (might be the dress though)

And ummmm this got so long and i got image limit, but for darker designs, i do really like fromsoft games' npc designs (not so much the bosses.. they tend to be very horror creature eldritch being for my taste) The doll and Eileen from Blo*dborne, Eld*en Ring's Ranni, and Thiollier are designs i really like.

And i know i'm missing a lottttt, there's a lot i'm missing from video games and manga i like (shout out to the love bullet girls all of them have absolute BANGER designs i adore them specially Chiyo, she has the best design for me).. i don't think there's really a theme? I'm sorry this got KILOMETRICAL omg
