A gift for @starlightarchery for our secret Santa art exchange.
I had so much fun drawing this and taking part in the secret Santa. Viridian and Hope are so beautiful I’m glad I was able to do them justice 🥰
The lore for these characters is so good I eat up every single rp reply and their efforts to reunite after Weisshaupt had me HOOKED!! Thank you Rey and Evan for your amazing character work and trusting me (kinda, you didn’t know it was me but still) to capture them on canvas. 💚
Viridian belongs to @starlightarchery and Hope belongs to @evans-endeavors
Chiotesh Koloran was born in a forgotten Pantoran village, to two parents he does not remember, and a life forever changed at the age of 4. As a youngling in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Chiotesh excelled both in training and socially, well liked by both Masters and his fellow peers. He passed the Gathering on Ilum at age 10, and at 15 (32 BBY) was chosen by Jedi Master Shaak Ti, who had recently taken a seat on the Jedi Council, to become her Padawan, where he would spend the next 10 years under her tutelage.
Under Ti's influence, Chiotesh showed an unwavering commitment to the Jedi Order and was eyed with the prospects of becoming a Temple Guard after passing his Trials, a goal he was dedicated in and excited to achieve.
22 BBY
By 25, Chiotesh was ready to face his trials and become a Jedi Knight, and then a Temple Guard. However, the galaxy had other plans. Both Master Shaak Ti and her Padawan were summoned to Geonosis where they took part in the battle that would signal the beginning of the Clone Wars.
Shortly after, the Padawan became a Knight, but the goal of Temple Guard was now unattainable. The Jedi Order, thrust into an intergalactic war and tasked with helming the Army of the Republic, gave him the title of General instead, and Chiotesh was sent to Kamino with Shaak Ti to oversee the production and training of the clones.
On Kamino, Chiotesh was initially bitter at his future being ripped apart by the war, something that made him reluctant in fulfilling his duties as a General. However, it didn't take long for him to find a home there. Contradicting his Jedi training, he formed deep bonds with the clones, ensuring he treated them not as a general, but as a friend and protector. He spent much of his off duty time in the mess hall or barracks, or walking the halls with Ninety Nine, a clone he was particularly close with. Shaak Ti, who was also compassionate towards the clones, supported this behaviour (though continued to preach caution) and clashed frequently with the Kaminoans on the subject.
21 BBY
During the Battle of Kamino, Chiotesh risked his life to protect the clones and their home, this and his obvious grief at the loss of Ninety Nine earned him the moniker of 'Brother' amongst the clones. He took over the responsibility of commanding the Kamino Garrison from his old Master, and fought more vocally for the rights of the clones both within the Jedi Order and on Kamino. The clones, known for tattooing their faces to distinguish their individualities, gave Chiotesh his Pantoran facial tattoos, a cultural honour he was unable to acquire at the Jedi Temple.
19 BBY
By the final year of the war, Chiotesh had become disillusioned with the Jedi order and the Republic, and fought more often with the Kaminoan government due to its treatment of clones as 'expendable products'. After the death of Clone Trooper Fives and the conspiracy surrounding the inhibitor chips, Shaak Ti left to return to the Jedi Temple, leaving Chiotesh alone on Kamino. Her departure felt a betrayal to both her padawan and the clones she'd cared for, and Chiotesh sought comfort in the brothers around him.
Refusing to let his friend die in vain, and afraid of the secrets he took with him, Chiotesh took Five's helmet and vowed to finish what he'd started. In secret, he set up a safehouse on [REDACTED], a remote planet with no military, with the hopes of liberating the clones and establishing a community there for them. Back on Kamino, he continued to investigate the inhibitor chips and struggled against the push back from the Kaminoan government.
Order 66
In the last days of the war Chiotesh left Kamino with a small squadron of Clone Commandos to meet with the Kaminoan senator on Coruscant. En route he felt a great disturbance within the Force, and watched his friends fall victim to Order 66 and the activation of their inhibitor chips. With no means of escape, the brother of the clones was forced to fight for his life against them, ultimately resulting in their deaths and Chiotesh the sole survivor aboard his ship.
Realising the worst had happened, and knowing he could never return to Kamino or the Jedi Temple, Chiotesh gave his brothers a funeral in the stars and disappeared.
