In February I was able to visit the Koenigsberg Castle(Chateau Haut-Koenigsbourg), near Strasbourg.
Honestly I felt like I was walking in Winterfell, it was a very magical experience (it was also freezing).
It was a Medieval Castle that was distorted during the 30 year war of 1633 and repaired in the early 1900s, under the order of Wilhelm II who was the Empreror at the time.
Apparently he really enjoyed spending his time there, and he loved going hunting. Actually inside the castle, there were many dried up animals, and there was a room filled with stag horns.
That was when I realised that he was a lot like Robert Baratheon. Though we know that the Emperor never did hunt the animals himself for his own safety and only claimed it was his work(if only Robert had done the same…)
Now what I find very interesting is that this castle was actually an inspiration for LOTR, which, is GRRM’s inspo for GOT. So it’s not very out of place to say that it looks like Winterfell. Now my source for this is my sister but hey I trust her.
Jousting guys
This is literally Jaime Lannister.
Also very magical hike up to the castle with my sister, which felt like the LOTR journey.
