aka the one where NEET/troll/hacker/scumbag manages to make his own AF
There’s a sudden strange phenomenon of people and tamashii going wild in the streets, screaming about violence, money and other things, as if they’ve lost control of their minds. Everyone affected has a strange "smile mark" on them. They also won’t let go of their mobile phones.
"Famous Detective" Tomoko comes out of nowhere and explains the mark belongs to Kunito, who we last saw as part of the Lost Island series of quests. Kunito is using an AF to cause chaos, for his own pure enjoyment. Tomoko also secretly reveals that there was a difference in how Lost Island played out in Worlds 1 and 2, but this is not related to the situation this time, so don't think about it for now (naturally this paradoxically makes me think more about it).

Yuki doesn’t understand how somebody like Kunito can hurt people so easily, and even laugh at them. Tomoko says she is better off not understanding him. Kunito is simply pure evil. He was the type of person who would become a tamashii just to leave traps, codes and clues. For no other reason than to mess with Nozomu.
Tomoko tells us Kunito not only managed to get his hands on the AF’s power, but was able to analyse it, and construct one from scratch on his own.
She also tells us about the man with the black hat, which was an infamous case which happened just after the Shoumetsu.
In the aftermath of the disaster, there was a rumour a man escaped from prison, and was ready to unleash poison gas on everyone. The man was armed, he was violent, and he had the appearance of a foreigner, wearing a black cap. There was a site with the information about him, that offered a reward for his capture.
But actually everything was a lie made up by Kunito. And as a result of his actions, many innocent people were caught and lynched. The videos even circulated on social media, it was really horrible.
Kunito gets bored of just watching us and decides to contact us directly. Yuki demands why he would do such terrible things. He responds that everyone is always being suppressed, and he just wants to help them let off some steam and reveal their true selves.
Kunito wants to make clear he doesn’t hate people. In fact he loves these fun "toys"
The AF that Kunito made is called the Diffusion Device. It acts like a virus and is transmitted from the smartphones.
To stop Kunito, we need to destroy the Diffusion Device. But Kunito is watching Takuya and Yuki from afar even as they speak, so he is definitely anticipating their arrival, with traps.
We split up with Tomoko, however before this Tomoko admits she needs to give a massive apology. Because the one who gave Kunito access to the AFs was her.

Recall the Kirihiko ranking, where the ex-conman appeared to turn over a new leaf, and created the man-made AFs to protect people. At the end of the quest, Tomoko wanted to make sure the AFs wouldn’t fall into the wrong hands.

However, his list of VIP buyers was coded, and she needed Kunito’s skills to crack it. The price for his help was access to all the information about AF contained in that VIP list.
The plan now is for Takuya and Yuki to distract Kunito’s projections while Tomoko searches for the Diffusion Device.
Takuya feels like Tomoko isn’t telling the whole truth...but he believes in her skill as a detective so we will play the ‘role’ she has assigned us.
Tomoko finds what she is looking for at the radio tower. But Kunito anticipated her and set a trap.
It’s an ambush.
However it was all according to keikaku, a necessary ‘process’ to solve the ‘puzzle’ of where the real Kunito is. Tomoko was attacked, meaning Kunito could see her, but given his personality, why wasn’t he there with front row seats? He never appeared to intercept her on the way either.
The reason is that he is in a situation where he can’t move from his location, because that is what is required for the Diffusion Device to work.
And the device needs the signal from the tower to work, meaning he is right at the top!
Tomoko orders us to head straight for the tower to find and defeat Kunito
Kunito concedes defeat, but he says this is enough for a test. He has gathered enough data…
Things are only just starting to heat up.
