Ren and Nora's flashback episode posits that Nora, judging from her clothing, is not a native of Anima. I can't remember if I've stated this before, but I've assumed from her bitter remarks about Atlas in Volume 7 that she was originally from Mantle. As for how she ended up in Kuroyuri, my adjacent theory is that her family worked for the SDC, which the World of Remnant segment on the Schnee Dust Company showed had branches in Anima;
Nora mentions in Volume 8 that her mother "Ran from the Grimm and left [her] behind." From this, I theorize that Grimm attacked what SDC site Nora's family had been living at, resulting in Nora becoming an orphan/runaway. This would explain Nora's raggedy appearance and almost feral mannerism when she ended up in Ren's village.
The village Tree dies with it while Ever After's continues to provide life
I know I did a crap ton of 07-Ghost posts not too long ago, just a veritable dumping of them on you guys. So I hope nobody’s too displeased that I’m back with more posts for the fandom. I had seen a prompt that was basically just asking people to rant about their favourite thing about the character and I really love that type of prompt. It’s so much fun to really sit and think about all the wonderful things about the characters – I chose Konatsu, Kuroyuri, Shuri, Haruse, and Verloren here - so I enjoyed doing that here! I hope my gushing will be at all fun and fascinating to you lovelies 😊
I mean, there’s so many things I could rant and gush about when it comes to Konatsu. He’s definitely my favourite secondary character in the series. I love the loyalty he has to Hyuuga, the bond those two share. I love how brave Konatsu can be. I love how just efficient he is – the boy works hard and he’s good at most everything he does. But I think my single most favourite thing about Konatsu is just that the man, while loyal, while hard-working, while he takes care of so many of the Black Hawks, how devoted he is...he don’t take no shit. Konatsu will call out Hyuuga on his bullshit whenever Hyuuga is just being too childish or too much. He calls out Shuri on Shuri’s childishness and selfish behaviours. He tries to keep Kuroyuri in line too in a scene or two. While he definitely puts up with a lot and has more patience than most people, he knows how to draw a solid line and has no problems speaking up when things aren’t acceptable to him.
I know I should focus in on traits and habits that make Kuroyuri great, because there’s a lot of things that are just absolutely amazing about this character. But if I’m being completely and totally honest, my absolute favourite thing about Kuroyuri is their design. I love the colour scheme the creator chose for them. Their little braid is adorable. I have a weakness for character’s with eyepatches too, so that definitely might have helped sell me on Kuroyuri right from the get-go. What I most love about the character design though is just how innocent and adorable Kuroyuri looks, child-like, but the facial expressions they make, the way they talk and act, is just completely opposite of their looks, as Kuroyuri is perhaps the most openly sadistic character in a way.
I love how forthright and honest Shuri is. He doesn’t bother to hide anything. He exists as unapologetically, unashamedly himself, mainly because he’s been a spoiled child who was raised to believe he’s a positively delightful human being who deserves people’s love and praise. Yeah, his honesty and his self-esteem might come from a place of childishness and sometimes pure stupidity, but it’s oddly charming in a lot of ways.
I love Haruse’s loyalty and his relationship with Kuroyuri. I think if there is any word that can perfectly encapsulate Haruse, in fact, it is ‘loyal’. He will do anything for those he cares about. While he’s not flashy or showy in his actions, he shows up for the Black Hawk’s in general and is willing to give up everything, even his own life, his own soul, for the sake of Kuroyuri.
My favourite thing about Verloren? It’s easily his canon story with Eve. The emotionless, ‘perfect’ creation learning how to properly feel and how to properly understand human emotions because of love? It’s just such a wonderful trope and it was so wonderfully told in the story between Verloren and Eve. It tugged at my heartstrings and I like that it added a complexity to the character, who before that was simply just a prideful, slightly insane seeming antagonist.

Kuroyuri
Was in the mood to draw my Wasp-youkai OC, Kuroyuri. She runs a hive-themed inn that welcomes anyone, be it monsters or humans. All the while wearing a magic facade to appear less intimidating
