Similarities

I have seen people on the internet use the argument: Yuki loved Tohru like a mother as a reason for why it is not okay to ship them, again and again.

But ehhh they are not even really related. 

Also, something I’ve always thought about when people mention this is that...

Also, there are so many similarities and parallels between Katsuya’s relationship with Kyoko, and Kyo’s relationship with Tohru.

I always thought that in the manga Katsuya looked a lot like Kyo. The similarity in hair color was always noticeable and mentioned in the series as well between Kyoko and Kyo. Their names are pretty similar also.

Maybe it was intentional on the author’s behalf. 

Kyo also did not grow up with a mother for the majority of his life, after what went down with his biological mother.

But regardless, this is another of the reasons I always felt the series could have gone in any direction.

(PS: These are just thoughts swirling inside my head. People should ship whatever they want. Interpret the material however they want. I’m just giving my opinion that’s all, it is not my intention to offend anyone in anyway. My point is the show could have gone in any direction, and this is kind of my counter argument against the whole ‘he loved her like a mother’ thing.)

I’ve seen a lot of posts listing off the other Kyoru scenes they’re excited for, but I have yet to see this one: WHEN TOHRU TELLS KYO THAT SHE’D LOVE TO GO GROCERY SHOPPING WITH HIM BECAUSE SPENDING TIME WITH HIM MAKES HER HAPPY AND KYO JUST SLAMS HIS HEAD INTO THE WALL BECAUSE HE THINKS SHE’S SO CUTE!!!
