Episode 1392: Stand Tall, Colossus!

Translator Notes:

The original Japanese script called Colossus a “steel giant” in his title and then had Vyrn call him an “iron giant”, as well.  It makes my eye twitch to preserve that wording, given that steel and iron are not the same thing, but I figured it’s not my job as a translator to correct consistency issues that are in the original script, so I left it be.

Episode 1403: Gunther’s Dragon Transformation!

Translator Notes:

Kuchikamizake (lit. “mouth-chewed sake”) is one of the oldest forms of sake, and is basically exactly what it sounds like.  Even after other forms of sake became commonplace, it was still sometimes used for the purposes of ceremonial sake - a young maiden would usually be enlisted to chew up and spit out the rice, and her saliva would serve as the basis for the sake’s fermentation culture.  It featured prominently as a narrative device in the recent anime Your Name - an anime I highly recommend, incidentally.

One other random point: both De La Fille and La Coiffe have English (well, French) names that slightly differ from their Japanese names.  Their Japanese names are Re Fiie and Kuwafyuuru, which correspond to the French La Fille (”the girl”) and Coiffeure (”hairdresser”).  I have no idea why their names were changed.
